Anybody get final grades yet? Thoughts, reflections, crushing guilt?

As usual I am taking a ridiculous amount of pride in my 4.0 GPA even though it really doesn't stand for much except getting extra money from scholarships.

Yeah, I also wondered what these points really stand for. My dad went to the same uni that I'm at now, and he says they affect the way your GPA is calculated when you get to the point of graduating, so I don't know what that means...

But yeah, I really get a huge boost from checking my grades, teeth gritted, not sure whether I'll get a full 4.0 again, and then seeing that it's true. I've got 58 credits so far, and a 4.0 GPA overall, so I'm just happy to get this far.

No, the B is worth 9 quality points where as the A is worth 12 quality points.

I got a B because my overall average was 80-89.9%

More specifically, because I studied more new material for the final than old material and it was 95% old material.

    Dicks.

I don't know why, but grading systems that go based on just a letter bother me to no end. It's probably because I've gone from middle school through university with a numerical GPA, and it seems more precise, but in reality it is not. You can say that an "A" = 93%+, just like you can say a 4.0 = 93%+. But it still bothers me.

I graduated with a 3.98, which I think is pretty damn good. My demise was a basic math course that I just was really, really not into. Looking back, I don't know why I worried so much, I would literally dander out sometimes from worrying about pulling another 4.0, and it ends up, nobody really cares. I did get some good scholarships for grad school, though.

These are my first A's in a few semesters. COM was pretty much based on a paper and two essays. The other class is get an A for showing up and doing basic work.

The others I'm hoping for C's so I don't have to take them again. I could handle having to go through 440, but I hate the teacher of 450.

The quality points are based on your grade. You take the letter grade and get a certain number (A = 4, B = 3, etc) and multiply it by the number of credits to get the quality points.

I'm still waiting on my grades, since it's final week here. I'm an Art Therapy major, minoring in Photography. After I graduate I'll continue on to graduate school for Clinical Art Therapy and hopefully end up working in a Hospital or maybe a clinic for handicapped children.

Got straight A's last year, but I did have to work for them, too. I was in my first real formal photography gallery show this semester and was praised by the dean of my college for having strong work, so I'm pretty pleased.

My mom and dad, who pay for my education, are proud of me no matter what I do, but are especially happy that I've found an interesting niche and I'm enjoying myself.

Art Therapy doesn't pay particularly great unless you open up your own private practice. And I may do that some day, who knows. I'm only a sophomore right now. I have lots of time.

You use art to help people with their problems. For example, a lot of children have difficulty expressing themselves and how they're feeling, especially if they're handicapped, so it's a great method for communication. You come up with projects that your patients do to help improve their mental state. Art therapy can help as a form of counseling in addition to talk therapy/drug therapy that a psychiatrist might do. Art therapists may work alone or sometimes part of a team who are all striving to help individuals improve their mental well being.

Art therapists can work in prisons, hospitals, elderly homes, schools, etc.

You need to go to graduate school and have quite a deal of experience in the field to be considered a licensed therapist. It's a small but growing field. According to PayScale art therapists make between $30k-50k, and more if they open their own practice. So it's not a hugely paying job, and it's a little obscure. But I'm enjoying the coursework and I think it would be a great way to earn a living.

I'm kind of pissed right now. I go to a small private university, and I usually get all of my grades by the Saturday after my last final. It's been 6 days, and I just got 2 of my final grades today. I know it takes a lot longer for most people, but it still pisses me off. I swear, the profs are lazier than the students.
