Violent games are a catalyst, not a cause.

I think it's a crap theory. If some little fucker is going to be violent, he doesn't need a game to justify his actions.

You're far too short-sighted to realize the real life implications of media violence. In almost every lab result tallied to date, it is clear exposure to violent media cause both short and long term aggressive tendencies. A game wont make you kill someone, but if you want to kill someone, seeing how to do it in a game can be the extra push a psycho needs.

If you'd like I have links to the research that shows, clearly and concisely, the short and long term effects.

Im not saying kids learn how to kill from a game. Seeing a man get shot makes a child a percentage more likely to commit any violent act in the future. Porn makes you horny, even if you arent getting laid. GTA makes you, on a psychological level, more inclined to violence, even if you're not going to kill.

I have always wanted to shoot a nigger. Before video games, i would dream about it, plan it out in my head, and come up with ways i could get away with it. I played video games where i could shoot tons of niggers. Now, i feel satisfied and i dont want to shoot niggers anymore
