Honestly, I don't think they're too bad. Floral skirts and dresses, especially ones with a vintage-y cut, are trendy now.
Generally, hipster-esque clothing involves overly dramatic outfits and accessories. People seem to mistaken "fashion-forward/personal sense of style" with "gaudy/tacky".
