Creating/finding/frequenting a place like this is a natural part of the evolution of people like us - that is, mostly nerds. It's normal for us to be here, we'd probably end up at a similar conclusion eventually anyway. I'm sure that those who say they'd have better lives without ever having known of 4chan are mostly unconsciously mistaken. A single community on the Internet may slightly influence your way of living, but never completely change it to the extent where it'd make a difference, provided you're not a tool. At least that's the way I feel about it; I'm more or less your typical image of Anon, always been and always will be, whether I go to 4chan or not doesn't really matter.

Like I said, we'd amount to walking the same path regardless. Despite protests from others, we are, after all, somewhat kindred. I think you're just rephrasing part of my statement in better terms than I could myself, but I understand what you're saying. One of my favorite threads are the advice threads, because I think it makes life just that teeny tiny bit easier for the rest of us. Simple tips given by the people who've experienced the situations, who have been through that stuff, giving their ideas and little helpful hints out to the masses so they don't make the same mistakes twice.
