It is just as bad as they say. There is no character depth. The drama, as well as every single possible event, is cliche and been rehashed a million times over.

Even worse, some of the best and most interesting parts of the book have nothing to do with the main characters at all, but have to do with the minor characters in the background, like the werewolf pack. And trust me, when the major drama of an entire book is stolen from Aliens (oh noes! giving birth to a monster!!), you know a book sucks.

I would say its the worst piece of crap ever written.

Even though the OP hasn't read it, she still makes valid points of argument, and although it is always best to be comfortably familiar with something before discussing it, there is an odor of bad prose that emanates from Meyer's books.
