Who else here works the graveyard shift?

I stack shelves in a supermarket three nights a week. Although it's one of the most boring fucking bottom-rung things possible, it took me well over a month to find a job after moving down here, and it pays damned nicely - I only have to work three nights a week to pay my rent and have disposable income left over. So far the only thing that doesn't sit quite right with me is the fact that I seem to be the youngest person working nights by about twenty years.

Any stories, gentlemen? Good experiences? Bad ones?

    Picture isn't related.

Night shifts make you feel dead inside and useless to the real world.

    Just like using 4chan.

I worked third shift all last summer.

Going back to school now afterward feels so awkward all the time. I loved working nights so much, now I'm back in this world of forcing myself to sleep every night (as opposed to falling asleep around noon which felt natural) and dealing with people I really don't want to be involved with.

I work at an actual graveyard digging ditches from 10 PM to 6 AM all alone.

I worked graveyard at a 24/7 pharmacy for a year or two. It paid more and we hardly had any customers throughout the night.

I work as a bartender so i generally start at 6-9pm and finish the next morning around 7am.

After i finish on sunday morning i just stay awake for a bit and do my shopping for the week, etc and then sleep till monday morning before continuing my week with a normal schedule before i have to work again (i work thursday-friday-saturday).

If i dont correct my sleep schedule every week i get moody and irritable.

I work two 12-hour graveyard shifts every weekend doing tech support for employees in my company. Luckily almost nothing ever happens during this time, and I only have to show up during regular weekday hours twice a week.

I really don't mind it, since I don't have any friends or significant others anyway. But since I'm going into graduate school at the start of next year (where classes are all scheduled on the same day, Saturday), I'll be switching over to a normal schedule, which will also let me get more involved with my company.

3rd shift tech support here, i get to lurk moar all night. when i get tired, i sleep in my chair. i just gotta answer the phone when it rings, which entails listening to some indian bitch because his web site isn't working. its usually because the curryfag deleted his cgi-bin.

i just tell him to go out and grab a hamburger or something, and it will be fixed by the time he gets back.

for some reason that always makes them goddamned pissed.
