The movie was explicitly anti-racist, so was Taxi Driver, in fact there is a whole long scene dedicated to calling out racism in the same manner as everything else.

It's not about racism, he even kills a guy for being racist. It's just about hating a town like LA where you're completely surrounded by assholes who hate you back.

it's about being a REAL conservative, and how you'd have very valid and rational concerns if you were one. he just wanted to have a happy family life...well that's what i took from it. i'm not amerikkkan so i couldn't really say.

It's about a guy who snaps. He wakes up one day and realizes that the world is not what he was told it would be. He did everything he thought he was supposed to do, but still ended up a gigantic failure. Instead of manning up and adapting he flips out and has a nervous breakdown.

movie was based on a true story. gravity was involved

because at the time humanity could not handle the awesome, so it blocked it out. it was later forgotten by all but a few....

ive seen a few screenshots from this posted on 2chan. i guess a few japanese people have seen it.

okay the weird thing is if you actually look at the plot this movie is about an old cop trying to catch a psycho. michael douglas is a compelling character but the real one to MAN UP was the cop for actually going after this nut case

his wife is the real antagonist. what a bitch, causing shit for no reason.

The cop and michael douglas were similar people but on different ends of the spectrum, one tyrannized by modern society one by his wife and the policed bureaucracy, that's why the cop was able to put things together so fast and why he ultimately feels sympathy for michael douglas and in the end throws off the shackles of both his wife and the police department.

It's almost a jekyll and hyde thing.
