22 KB Lonely travelling experiences anyone have any? Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)04:18:38 No.2118328
Have any of you guys back pack traveled in another country or across America?

I have the urge to someday just pick up leave and travel either across the states or in Europe and Australia. Of course I shall wait until my 30's and if I still have this urge and enough money saved up I will do it.

Also non American fags good are your countries for back pack traveling folk? I will most likely take the train, bus etc around and walk or bike.

I went to Japan alone for a couple of weeks. I can confirm that I was pretty lonely for a few days but that comes with the initial shock of being 12000 km away from the nearest person who knows you. I made some friends and had a good time. In a couple of years i plan on doing a few months in Europe, i don't know whether i'll go alone or not. I suspect I will, it seems like the more pure form of travelling, and it will be hard to find someone who wants to take a few months off, has the cash, and wants to go to the same places as me (although i want to go everywhere)

My plan would be to travel via bus, train, hitch hiking and walking with no set goal or destination.

Maybe hit a bar in every city or see whatever local monuments, tourist sites they have.

I will sleep in hotel rooms hostels in the woods where ever. I plan on saving up at least 50 grand and making it last. Maybe pan handle in the tourist areas for extra cash.

This is just a fantasy btw and probably won't happen but if you have done this please talk about it.

I visited Australia in February by myself. It was the first time I had traveled abroad alone and I rented a car and stayed in motel rooms every night because.

In retrospect I wish I had used public transportation instead of renting the car and stayed in hostels instead of motels. I probably talked to like five people in the two weeks I was there.

My goal is to one day save up enough money so I can go to America, buy a motorbike and travel everywhere by myself.

You probably spent the whole time in front of a computer anyways.

I want to actually foot walk much as possible. Ride the train and bus instead of rent a car or get a taxi.

Hike everywhere and spend money less as possible. Maybe hang out in a few clubs or bars and buy some local drugs.

I plan on doing this for at least three years.

    Here are my main destinations.

    >Germany
    >France
    >Poland
    >Spain (maybe)
    >Australia
    >New Zealand
    >Canada

I thought about going to Asia but fuck that. At least in white territory they know better English long as I don't say I'm from America I should do fine.
    >> Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)04:32:20 No.2118395
Bump any Euro or Aussie fags around?

What are the most see places for someone who is traveling alone. Not in a tour group or with a family.
    >> Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)04:34:53 No.2118408
I think I will travel everywhere I go in the next 10 years by myself; I don't know anyone that shares my motivations to travel, I don't know anyone that I like enough to spend weeks with; and it's more of a challenge to do it by yourself.

At the start of next year, I will go to Japan to snowboard, by myself. My plan is to use public transport, and stay only in hostel dorms - sharing sleeping space with others is a great way to meet people. I've got 8 months to learn as much Japanese as I can...
I'll also go to Malaysia, just because I know someone there who will show me around, and it's cheap.

I'm yet to experience solo travel though, so it could all go horribly! Also, Money...

Hit the local bar scene, check out tourist sites like tall buildings see nature that sort of thing.

Head to the beach and maybe surf or do something else. Camp out in the woods etc.

See nature and take in the culture and mingle with local folk.

You are not alone. I want to solo travel it's the only real thing I want to do on this earth. That and write.

I don't want to visit Japan because the language barrier. At least in Europe and Australia they speak some what English well enough for me to communicate to the locals.

Aus brobot here. Must see? The Blue mountains. I'd suggest doing an activity up there (like Abseiling, hiking etc) rather than just going to the tourist places, but it's a definite must see.
Also, most of the east coast is nice - if a little boring. For nights out in Sydney, head to Kings Cross or Oxford st (lots of gay clubs there, but a cool place).
Most of the must-see things in Aus are outdoor, nature type things that focus on the uniqueness of the landscape, so come in spring (around September)

I'm Ausfag and I'd probably suggest checking out New Zealand during their tourist season. You can do a lot of fun shit over there.

Other than that I might suggest doing some hiking and camping at the New South Wales (Australia) snowy mountains or something. Find a place you can go kangaroo shooting for the lulz and that night hit the local pubs. Hit up Melbourne then for the shopping/clubbing and art culture, and finish it off up north in the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.

    (Brisvegas fag here)

Holy fuck you can actually put a bullet into one of those?

I thought they were beloved by you guys?

I have no intention of clubbing.

I want to visit bars yeah. I want to surf, hike and bike ride. Walk around the big crowded tourist areas and chick out the women.

Yes you can kill those fuckers

You can swap out Melbourne for Sydney so you can check out the surf beaches down there (Bells Beach and Bondi I think?)

    >>2118453

Boring is nice. This whole thing is supposed to be relaxing and being in touch with nature etc.

And too also experience other cultures. I'm pretty sure Aussie culture is next to American culture though same with Europe. I'm not sure how Germany is nowadays.

Cool as fuck. What about sharks though?
    >> Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)04:52:24 No.2118536
    >>2118514
Chances of sharks are pretty low, they have choppers and nets and shit checking for them now and again. The west coast is where you have to worry about them, fucking great white motherfuckers will eat yo ass.

You can essentially start a trip to Aus at Sydney, do all surfing/beach stuff there, move onto hiking/bush trails/etc up northern NSW a bit more, and then hit up gold coast or whitsundays to finish it off really. (IMO that's what I'd do)

This is also a question for Eurofags as well.

If I don't say I'm American are the chances for survival better? I will represent Canada all the way if I have too.

    Gerfag here.
It's really quite simple, don't act like a retard and you won't have any problems. Also most younger people speak decent English, so you shouldn't have too many problems.

There actually is a club where you can fuck in Berlin. It's called Berghain. I've been there, don't go there. You don't want to fuck the kind of people who frequent this shithole.
    >> Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)05:27:24 No.2118725
    >>2118710

Fuck maybe not. But glory hole fuck yeah!!

Also plan on flirting with the local German girls. How does one flirt with them?

"Hey baby, check out Mine Fuhrer"

    (Points to dick and smiles)

Would that get me disgusted looks? Also do I avoid mentioning Hitler at all?

    Serious question.
    >> Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)05:35:18 No.2118772
    >>2118725
You flirt with them the same way as with girls everywhere else. A pure aryan family tree over 10+ generations is currently not required to fuck them.

Also, yeah unless you've met guys who crack racist jokes all the time, don't mention Hitler. Foreigners usally have quite weird ideas of Hitler and National Socialism and it's generally very annoying. For example I've met one guy from NZ once and he seriously asked me whether you are allowed to marry a German woman if you don't have German ancestry nowadays. Don't do that.

And yeah, those nude and fuck clubs are often frequented by weird people. If you're that desperate for pussy visit one of the countless brothels. You can get your dick wet with a decent girl for as little as 30 EUR (about 40$ I think?).

Ive been to south kroea, china [HK,beijing], thailand, vietnam, canada, singapore, england, im from australia.

most of these distinations were mainly because of my job sent me, but i usually get an extra few days to a couple weeks[depending on how fast i finish my job] to stay behind and hang around to explore the city. so its not really lonely back packing, which id never do.

i usually go to countries that i have friends living there

pic is snake wine with a fresh beating heart of a snake(just cut out of the snake moments prior). ive had this a few times in vietnam, shit is crazy

I was thinking Euro women had a different sense of humor or style.

I was thinking Amsterdam or Berlin had some good sex clubs. I'm into real kinky shit so yeah. Also I would like to hike around in the mountains. Do they allow people to go there alone? I assume lot's of travelers get lost and die free climbing.
    >> Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)05:43:00 No.2118813
    >>2118790

That's gross. But hey in Asia they eat scorpions and spiders so whatever.

I want to back pack travel alone because I don't see myself having a future in the states with a wife and suburban house etc.

I don't know what kind of humor American girls have, so I can only advise you to play it save and keep everything that might be considered weird to yourself.

There are a lot of great kinky sex clubs, but the decent ones don't allow single men and the rest are obviously sausage fests.

Bavaria and Tyrol have the most amazing mountains. Make sure to visit Berchtesgaden when you're in Bavaria. Also of course you are allowed to go alone. There a lot of travel routes in the mountains, as long as you don't go too far away from them you'll be safe. We have some tourists every year who think they're hardcore and have to go to the more dangerous parts of the Alps despite knowing next to nothing about climbing. When they die it's usally considered their own problem, it's not like there aren't any danger signs around.
    >> Anonymous 04/15/12(Sun)05:48:51 No.2118843
I've backpacked alone but always stumbled across people and brought them with me. In Aus for example I met two Israeli guys and a Taiwanese guy and we ended up renting a motorhome and driving across the country.

I'll give you a hint if you're nervous

    >Be on bus
    >Look across at him, raise eyebrows in acknowledgement
    >I say hi, you alright?
    >He says yeah how's it going
    >I ask where he's from
    >We talk for a little while
    >He tells me his plans
    >I go with him to meet his friend in a hostel
    >We attach and start doing things together

simples. Israelis are actually really nice.
