    11 KB NEET GENERAL 03/17/12(Sat)13:01:46 No.1782289
Hi, I'm about to turn into a 20 year old high school dropout NEET with no friends, no work experience, never had a girlfriend or female friends, no social skills, never did anything social for my high school years, etc. What are you all doing with your lives neets? What are your goals and aspirations?

I think i may end up being a complete recluse forever, is anyone else in the same boat?

For those unaware, NEET stands for Not in Employment, Education or Training.
    >> Anonymous 03/17/12(Sat)13:50:56 No.1782732
No goals, otherwise I wouldn't be here.
    >> Anonymous 03/17/12(Sat)13:55:27 No.1782771
I'm doing nothing with my life. I have no ambition but to live comfortably, which I am doing living as a hiki.
    >> Anonymous 03/17/12(Sat)13:56:03 No.1782778
i was in the same boat except the no female friends part
my already meager social skills deteriorated into basically nonexistence when i became a shut-in for like a year
i'm on the road to becoming a normal human being now, though. i've got a really easy job in a retail store where management lets me get away with acting like a complete idiot and not doing any work b/c that is pretty much what they expect out of employees, hahaha. i make enough through a few websites that i run that i don't need a job, i'm mostly using it for social exposure to get over crippling social anxiety.
basically my aspirations are to 1.) become a halfway-normal socially acceptable human being and 2.) make a lot of fucking money
also a good part of working a retail job is that you see "normal" people who are like morbidly obese and too stupid to understand anything and realize that the only thing separating you and them is an anxiety disorder and the perception of yourself as an outcast.
    >> Anonymous 03/17/12(Sat)14:03:38 No.1782848
I think I'm going to be there soon. Right now I'm going to community college but I don't see that getting anywhere because I'm fucking stupid and don't have any goal in mind. I also don't think I can ever work because A. Everything seems to require prior experience or some sort of fancy degree and B. I feel like I'm too good for scrubbing shit off of things.

Sometimes I feel like I should just go be a monk or something but I don't like the idea of having to adhere to some doctrine. I could always learn the skills to just be some hill top hermit on my own but fuck it, too lazy...should feel bad, man.

Former NEET here, I know that feel. Well, straight to the point: One key to find work is doing interships. Yeah, I know... who wants to work for free for two weeks or so? Nobody, not even me.

I also dropped out of school and currently redoing my graduation with fucking 22yo duh. Suprisingly the company called me, they actually want to give me an apprenticeship (warehouse logistics). However, I'll probably do a few years more of school, because I've higher goals. So yeah, just want to tell ya.

I've only been NEET for a short time. I realized I can't compete in any field and personal relationships are unfulfilling. Parents don't know yet. Selling and throwing away all stuff. Getting a bitcoin account, have silk road bookmarked, going to tell my parents I found a job then OD on barbiturates in the middle of the woods.
    Feels good, man.
If I pussy out, I am going to fucking rage.

I just want to sleep all day. That's all I want to do. Sleep. I have no money for school and so I was forced to stop going just when I was doing well again. I can't get a job even though I've applied just about everywhere, and asked everywhere twice. My only forms of generating income were teaching guitar and nobody wants to learn anymore, even for the highway robbery price of $5/hour (it used to be $10 but then I got desperate and lowered it).

I just want to sleep and be left alone without being called worthless.

The exception of course, if you are not only a NEET, but a hikikomori as well. I've had varying degrees of social anxiety in my life so I can kind of understand where hikis are coming from.

    >get held back senior year
    >cant deal with people in public anymore
    >do online school
    >fail that
    >be neet for a year
    >beg my cousin for a job at a restaurant as a host
    >be employed for a year make 12,000 plus an extra 1000 from tax returns
    >spent all on bullshit like a new tv and videogames
    >content with new stuff and even more socially awkward i quit my job
    >neet for almost 4 months now

going to get a job eventually, would like to obtain a skill or at least get in better shape first. maybe try for overnight restocking. Also going back to high school at 20 years old because i cant math and have unresolved issues i need to deal with in school so i quit being a manchild stuck in the past

    I'll be 20 in July.
Don't have any work xp and I regret it
Currently I just apply for jobs at fast food places and hope for the best. Plan is to get a job then get a vehicle, then save and look for an apartment. If I can get a vehicle I could apply for jobs in the city 45 minutes away and then eventually move there.
Don't have any friends or gf since highschool but thats because I don't go places. Getting a job will help as I'll be able to afford to go and do things, and fuel my hobbies, hopefully getting a motorcycle again. Maybe cheap gym membership too so I can get swoll as fuck.

You know, a lot of neets might enjoy being a crust/gutter punk, beg for money and food, dumpster dive, go to shows, no showers or shaving, and some cute girls. I mean, kinda live like that already, why not? I've thought about it....
    >> Anonymous 03/18/12(Sun)01:38:43 No.1789675
I want to be a neet, but my family is kind of poor so I have to have a job. I just want to make money online, by running a website or something, but I just dont know how to do it. I want to be able to sleep. I dont want to live life.

Bastards. I'm here in the US. Im getting 460 a month. My Rent and bills average around 460. I buy mostly top ramen or really generic cheap macaroni and cheese but I also sneak food from all my other roommates. I had to tape up my glasses. I'm pretty sure I've been seriously ill recently but just endured since I couldnt go to a doctor. Once my xbox live runs out im fucked on entertainment because I already had to sell my amp and guitar. I actually look foward to my xbox live running out so i can sell my xbox and then ill probably be able to get drunk again finally. I had an interview last week. I dominated that shit, I'm just waiting for them to call back and its killing me. I wasnt met to rot like this. I want to fucking work.

And the kicker? I have a smoking hot girlfriend who has already graduated college and has three jobs right now and her sex drive is through the roof but my self-esteem is so low from being such a waste of space at the moment has killed my libido

Don't really wanna go into details, but it pays 15 grand a year (GBP) and has great prospects. It's highly stressful, though, apparently, so that's one downside. The other is losing some time to commute and not being able to play video games all day erry day any more. Oh, and it's more or less office work. Clerical stuff and data entry mostly.

Been NEET 5 years due to depression. On benefits for it, surviving on that, mostly. Had to go to therapy, take pills for 2 years etc. Still have zero self-esteem and find myself to be quite pathetic, but I can talk a good game when I need to and that's what bagged me the job.

All of a sudden, though, I just wanna turn around and tell them to fuck off and keep living my Hikki/NEET lifestyle in peace.

15K is about the standard annual cost of living in the UK. Meaning after buying food and TP for your bunghole, you'll have none of that delicious monies for yourself, meaning you might as well just stay on welfare, meaning you're an idiot for taking a high-stress, low-paying job when you don't have to.

If you're selling yourself for a high-stress, low-paying job that you don't even need just for an ego boost, then the problem is not that you are NEET, but that you are insecure.

Your baseless desire for something that you most likely can't even quantify and most certainly won't even gain is driving you to make extremely poor decisions. Would a mentally sound person with a modicum of self-respect even consider doing the shit-shovelling job you've settled for, unless they were absolutely destitute? I highly doubt it.

People have been saying society is crumbling for thousands of years. We are still here. Barring an alien invasion we will be around for a very long time.

There will come a point where the world does not need everyone to work because of technology. NEETs are the first step. In the future with the help of technology the government will be able to provide for people who chose not to work at a low cost. How many of you would want to work if you can have a 200 sq ft room with internet access and basic food and drink?

There was a short story about how the government houses and feeds half the population who chooses not work. The population looses a significant amount of rights, but many people don't care. For those who got lucky they could move to one of the few Venus projects that existed.

The difference then is that societies were isolated. The roman empire never interacted with the Chinese dynasties and the Mayans. Today with a global economy and culture everyone has a stake in the game. If things start to get bad people will come together to fix it. This can be seen over in the EU where they are propping up Greece to keep their own countries stable.

    > worry about the future >feel guilty about the past >forget about the moment

sit back and relax, life is a game you can't win

if you're an atheist then you know that all things are meaningless so why struggle with 50 or so years of life to invariably have it end with nothingness. You won't remember yourself or your past deeds and therefore the majority of your time is spent in death anyways. What is your life to an eternity in nothingness? (This is meant to be an uplifting statement by the way. Buddhists see nothingness as a great thing. How could you know you were alive if you were not once dead?)

    If you're christian, Jesus said
"If you want to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven" Matthew 19:21

"Those who want to save their life will lose it, those who want to lose their life for my sake, will find it" Mark 8:35

So why do anything? It doesn't matter, no pressure. Perhaps this will give you the energy to pursue your dreams or maybe it will give you the insight to be content with the present moment.

y'all are absolutely pathetic, and I am dead serious non-trolling here, how can you just rot away when you have been given such a gift...

you really have no idea how beautiful the world is and how complex emotions can be and feel unless you put yourself out there

you're missing out on so much yet you're all so contempt in staying a NEET.

That to me just blows my mind...Such...such waste of life...I'm 19 and I already feel as though I'm running thin on 'the good years'

how can you guys just do nothing and rot away like this? Clearly there is a problem but you're unwilling to confront it? WHY?

There is so much possibility and you choose to experience none of it.

THAT is the true definition of fear, in my opinion.

I was a NEET until I turned 23 and my parents threatened to kick me out of the house if I didn't stop playing Diablo II all day and get a job or something. So, I went to college (I dropped out of HS and got my GED, so I had to do one year at a CC) while working nights at an ISP to pay my way through. I never made any friends in college or have a girlfriend, but I did graduate with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science. After I graduated, I found a job writing feature-recognition software for a medical company, and moved out of my house and in to my own apartment.

Now, I make ~$80k/yr as a software engineer, I own my own car, and I'm getting ready to buy a condo soon. But, I'm still a 31 year old virgin with no friends. I work, I come home, I cook something, I work on my hobbies (either write more code or play my violin) and then I drink myself into a stupor to prepare for the next day.

I guess I'm kind of like an evolved NEET

Technically a NET then. Apparently your parents threatening to kick you lit a fire under your ass and you got a double major and a nice gig (I think). Now you just need to find something to motivate you to get with a lady. Old virgins rarely turn out socially functional.
