    >At least 25 companies have pulled their ads from the "The Rush Limbaugh Show" since the conservative talk show host called a law student a "slut" on the air last week, as the social media blitz against the popular radio program showed no signs of slowing down Tuesday.

    >By the end of the week, President Barack Obama had personally called the law student to check if she was OK, and advertisers had started to pull their ads from the radio show as the public launched a social media blitz against the program.

What does /r9k/ think about this? For those not in the loop, he called her that because she is a women's rights activist who demands the government to pay for her free contraception.

I seriously do not understand why the fuck everyone is so supportive of her on this issue. I normally don't agree with Rush, but I think he was simply calling her for what she really is. He's said far more controversial things, yet the first time he dares to speak out against feminism, this shitstorm happens.

These are tough economic times, yet all the feminists in this country still want their free handouts. It makes complete backward sense to me how the entire fucking country, even the president, is collectively behind this whore on this issue.

    >What does it say about the college coed Susan Fluke [sic], who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex.

    >So, Ms. Fluke and the rest of you feminazis, here's the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it, and I'll tell you what it is. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.

So, he basically tells the truth, and gets demonized for it? Feminists truly have no shame.

It's the free market reacting to negative PR. People like Rush Limbaugh need to adapt to the demands of today's economy and that includes not making ad hominem attacks. Obviously he had enough talking points to effectively argue against her but he decided to take a risk and now he's feeling the consequences.

Op, do you really want to risk a situation where people decline to use birth control because they can't afford it?

The population in first world countries is typically either remaining the same or declining, and universal access to birth control is the only thing that makes that possible. If we did NOT have this access, it would become necessary to implement China style authoritarian control over sex and reproduction, with state sponsored forced abortion vans making regular rounds. Because the only other thing left is for all of us to fucking starve to death.

Slut? No idea, I can't make that call without more information. The simple fact that someone uses birth control doesn't make them a slut.

I don't think the government should be paying for birth control though, it's not the governments responsibility to fund something like that. The government is for public things, a woman's health is not a public thing.

Honestly, if you studied law, poltics, or political philosophy this wouldn't seem so retarded to you.

And this again isn't really a feminist issue, it would benefit men almost to the same extent.

It isn't the outrageous to claim that the government should be supplying us with contraception.

The right to sex isn't a positive right, we don't have claims against people to help us procreate.

Do we have a positive right to health-care? Maybe not in murika, but some countries do. And in those cases people have a claim against the state to support them. And in these cases it isn't a large leap to suggest people have a claim against the state to get contraception.

But secondly, if the state actually supplied society with contraception do you think taxpayer money would be saved or wasted?
And think about that for a second, because it seems to me that supplying contraception would reduce pregnancy and long term save money (i.e from beneficiaries)

In terms of abortion clinics the argument would be if the state only had the duty to supply society with the option, or whether it should pay for it too (this varies country to country).

Given the totality of personal experience, celebrity gossip, popular depictions of romance in the media, the archives of the great literary classics, anecdotes, and all other evidence apart from egalitarian feminist orthodoxy enshrined in academic literature and newspaper OP-EDs and feminists blogs points to the inextricable and indisputable existence of hypergamy, the question is not whether hypergamy is provable or falsifiable but why non-hypergamy is even legitimate as a plausible seeing of things in general when it contradicts all facts and all intuitions and all sense so that for me to try to "explain" this theory to you in scientific terms is to surrender myself to the authority, the shabby, constructed, hollow artifice of the ideological-feminist-social-scientist-complex, just as when the Jew has to debate on pseudo-scientific terms why the Jew is a human being when the standards are Nazi standards; anyone who dares to think of hypergamy and to weigh it against the alternative explanations sees and feels its force and power without the need for "scientific" recourse, and only the strongest ideological blinders can suppress the force and power of its truth.

Sadly, that's all horseshit. The pill overloads the body with estrogen and progesterone, inhibiting ovulation. A lot of that estrogen enters the water supply via urination, so not only has the pill caused the spread of STIs via uninhibited unprotected sex, it's damaging the environment and possibly causing increased risk of breast and testicular cancer. So once again, feminists are going apeshit over someone being against something that's harmful to everyone, including themselves. Woman logic at its best.

If you have sex about 1-2 per day, that's about two 12 pack condom boxes per month at ~$15x2, which works out to about $360 per year on condoms.

The savings insurance companies make on lowering unplanned pregnancy rates (hospital costs, checkup costs, added birth defects from lack of folic acid or FAS) means that this basically pays for itself.

Spending $0 per year for bareback sex with wife or spending hundreds on condoms...jeez, tough decision guys.

On most third world countries, most people don't know about how contraception works and don't have much access to the stores/hospitals where contraceptive methods are sold, so this is a necessity. I do also happen to live in one.

But in the United fucking States, there is absolutely NO need for the Government to pay you for your pills. This is just wanting to leech off of Government, and using shitty modern pseudo-feminism as an excuse.

huh, an implanon that last for 3 years costs like, $20, who cares who pays for it? who couldn't save $20 out of their pay? even if you're at school... shit, i was at university and working 15 hours a week and i could still pay for my own contraception, or ask your parents for "food" money if it's so shameful. regardless, someone using contraception doesn't make them a slut, and that's a retarded thing to say on radio. like, holy shit, the guy who said it must be a fucking idiot to think he'd get away with that.

    my .02 cents.

All you people putting full blame on the women for having sex really are letting your bias (beta qualities) overwhelm your judgment.
It takes a man to stick it in too, we don't need to argue which gender is affected more by unwanted pregnancy, because it unquestionably effects us as a collective (funding beneficiaries etc).

It isn't as simple as staying abstinent when you are evolutionary programmed to crave sex, that is a virgin delusion (notably backed by churches [notorious virgins]).

    Both were being unreasonable.

America seems to be all about polarity rather than meeting somewhere in the middle where the sane and thoughtful people are.

I guess the ratings are at the poles.

I get my contraceptives for free. I don't even need to go to a doctor, and they practically beg you to take away loads of condoms.

Why don't Americans want free healthcare?

Nope. You just went full retard bro.

The student was basically defending the contraceptive law. There ARE medical reasons for taking birth control beyond not wanting kids. How exactly was she being retarded?

    > Why don't Americans want free healthcare?

Because being able to see a doctor when you need one is oppressive.

They prefer freedom like denying rights to blacks, women and gays.
