    234 KB Your 4chan story. Anonymous 01/03/11(Mon)20:38:31 No.12763115
Hello /r9k/. I think it's time for us to share our 4chan stories.

I heard of 4chan about three years ago, don't know where on the internet exactly, but some tech site. As I became more interested with tech, the more I heard about 4chan.

I first visited this site during the summer of 2009. Really, the only thing I'd had heard of was /b/ and all the Japanese culture. I learned about Encyclopedia Dramatica, and from there I started to venture into the dark side of the internet, and learned everything about 4chan in a matter of days.

The first time I actually looked at a 4chan board, I made the mistake of going right to /b/, thinking "How bad can it be?" Newfag mistake. I was scarred by some scat porn, and jumped out of Firefox faster than I would if I had stuck my hand on a hot stove. During the winter of 2009/early 2010, I frequented /s/, as it provided an interesting variety of porn, but also comments. Around this time, I started poking cautiously into /b/ again.

This last summer, I read all over /b/, but was still a lurker. I didn't start posting until October, where I trolled /b/ a little and posted some of my photography to /p/. I read more on ED, and I've read every thing relating to 4chan by now.

4chan really came to be a big deal to me during the failed tumblwar of OO. I used both sites, and played both sites against each other, giving advice on each.

I first discovered the beauty of /r9k/ last week, and I love the intellectualism. I'm stopping my typing of the starter 'cause I'm lazy, but your replies are encouraged.

I met this guy on an internet forum that introduced me to /mu/. I fell in love with /mu/ and didn't visit any other board for about 6 months. Then I tried exploring the interwebz a bit more and visited /adv/, but all the relationshit got to me. Visited /x/, that was fun for a while, but I got bored of it since they get trolled so easily. The FIFA World Cup made me want to visit /sp/. I found /r9k/ through /adv/. These days I just visit /int/, /mu/, /sp/, /r9k/, /fit/ and sometimes /adv/.

First heard about 4chan in like '07, didn't bother with it 'cause I didn't use the computer too much.
First started browsing in late '08 and was pretty much a
/b/ exclusive lurker 'cause it made me laugh sometimes and I just didn't bother with any other boards, apart from
/gif/ and /s/ every once in a new moon.
Started browsing daily in mid '09 'cause I was bored in the summer and decided to check out all the boards.
Found /r9k/ dunno how long ago.
Now browse /b/ and /r9k/ daily and check in on other boards occasionally.
Started tripfagging last week 'cause why not?
    Thar ya blow OP.
P.S. Nobody knows I frequent 4chan, because the people I know who do use it are really fucking lame and spout memes all the fucking time.

    Went straight to /b/
Wasn't shocked because I'm cynical and I'm a sarcastic little fucker. Loved the trolling culture.
Kind of a "natural troll" or so to say with a linguistics IQ of 164.

Continuing on I lurked /b/ almost exclusively with the rare visit to /wg/ until a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon /fa/ /fit/ and this board is my first time posting. A thread in /fa/ lead here.

Late 2004, I joined Gaia because I liked anime. Then 4chan soon trolled afterwards. After they trolled, I visited the site and felt and began visiting more often. Since then, I have stopped liking anime and liking other things.

Go ahead and call me an "animefag" or a "gaiafag," I think a lot of people who joined 4chan around that time liked anime.

Boxxy. In 2009, I had watched a boxxy vid for a few seconds, and clicked off thinking it was bullshit. I remember reading "die in a fire die in a fire" spammed X 1000 in the comments, and I was like "WTF? why do they hate her so much.
I forgot about it, until early last year. I found another boxxy vid, watched it, and clicked on some related vids. I wanted to find out the story of her and what not, investigating what happened.
Eventually, it led to 4chan. I went immediately to sexy beautiful women (Zomg pronz lol) /b/, and r9k, because they were in the 18+ catorgories, and I assumed the rest of the site was Japanese weeabo teenage bullshit. I posted a few things, filling out the name, email, subject and password fields because I thought you had to in order to post. I couldn't find my threads, and it kept saying "Duplicate file entry detected"
    I eventually fucked off.
Didn't come back for a month or two. Came back to get a personal army, I had read about the epic raids that 4chan supposedly did, I thought of them as some internet black knights. My first real thread got over 100+ replies, personal army somewhat successful. I even screen capped it I thought it was so epic.

    And that's my story.

but anyway, i'll post my story. Started with /b/ the first few weeks (year and a half ago), but began lurking on /v/ and /k/.

/k/ was epic and a brutal trip-fest as time went on, so I only went there occasionally. /v/ is /v/.

I had an intense phase of lurking on /adv/ for awhile, but left due to its repetitive nature imo.

I found 4chan some time in may.
I was on funnyjunk (stfu), and everyone hated 4chan for some reason, so googled it (again, stfu), and went straight to /b/, as op did, however I didn't get scarred by anything, or even get concerned really.
I got chandroid for my phone since I didn't have a computer, and started reading through posts. I guess being on fj prepared me for the memes.
    I started liking it.
Then I saw the furry threads..
    and I liked them ;_;
I kept lurking around, then found r9k.
Got a laptop for christmas, and this is all I've been doing since.
