    Hey r9k/

I'm 18 and want to get my first job.
I've graduated from highschool with somewhat mediocre grades and I want to find a part time job, I can work Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the moment.

Apart from a brochure delivery job I did when I was 13 I have no previous experience with jobs, I also don't have any hobbies/references to put down for my resume.

Any ideas for getting a first job, where to work, where to avoid?
Theres quite a few local cafes/restaurants so I was thinking there might be better than a fast food joint.

Also like /r9k/ im socially inept and very shy, I dont have any nice clothes for a job interview either, just a daggy collar shirt and black jeans.

    Advice?

Also I'm thinking if I cant get a job at a cafe etc. place (mcdonalds, KFC) would dominos/pizza hut be a better option?
I think it would be a bit nicer and lower stress.

    Any tips from anyone?

Go and pick up a cheap polo shirt, and pick out some decent pants (anything thats not jeans or shorts) and bam, you're dressed for an interview.

Don't be picky, apply to places that aren't necessarily the easiest/coolest place to work.

and remember, you're doing this for money, so don't flake and not show up to the interview/training/first day
If you do, you've done all the work ahead of you for nothing

There's more, but maybe I'll think about posting it in a bit

rent a suit or borrow one, or buy one from a secondhand store.

it depends on what you're looking to do. anything with hospitality will make your income tip dependent which can be a bitch
