I just got tired of complaining, it serves no purpose, all you can do is watch the quality of each board, and eventually the entire site, steadily decline untill you can't stand it anymore and leave.
It happens to everything that gets popular, because normal people have a much lower level of intelligence, there is no irony in that, i am not smart, i wouldnt be sitting here jobless if i was, but these are the people who think Avatar is the best movie in history and who think MW2 is the height of FPS.
I'm not gonna pretend to be an oldfag and lie that i've been here since 1998 or some shit, i first found 4chan through ED in about 2007, always avoided the site because of its bad reputation, about a year later (after having already become acquainted with the culture, thank god) i ended up coming here to find out what it was like and enjoyed it. Stayed on /b/ for a while, frequented /v/ and /x/, came to /r9k/ (this was after the gentlemen period, i missed that) and enjoyed it.
I'm not going to pretend 4chan was some kind of unimanginable paradise of endless OC and hilarity, but it was a damn sight better than what you see here.
Yeah, it pisses me off that "normal" people who use Facebook and send 200 texts a day frequent this site, and it annoys me that they took away my secret clubhouse, it annoys me that people like us are now the minority, now people get offended and shocked when the pedos congregate, now the circlejerk of unhappy anons has been replaced by tripfaggotry and "hey guys my 16th GF left me bitches and whores forever alone rate my hat".

I remember newsgroups like alt.tasteless or alt.shenanigans were just /b/. Then there was alt.angst which was almost exactly like /r9k/. After people stopped going on Usenet, I was happy to find this place. As much as I hated some of you assholes, I got the feeling that we were all pretty much the same messed up, insecure, and creative misanthropes on the inside.

That's not what I did. I went for lessons with my dad when I was very small and learnt basic water confidence. Then, later, I had more lessons without my dad and learnt to swim properly.
