The belief in god can form a strong physical connection in the brain that serves as a sort of ego and motivator. Motivation can easily lead to dedication and confidence, which in turn leads to a higher success rate. His belief in god could very well have helped him perform better.

    Truth is:

Any one who takes TT's wins as evidence for Jesus will have to take the wins of any non-devout QB as evidence against him. Or at least as a sign of some weird convoluted reward and punishment system.

Right, but it's 43% of the 70% who know. That means 30% of Americans know about Tebow and believe his success is the result of divine intervention. That's still a retardedly high number.

Good for Tebow for his athletic performance. But if he himself really believes that God's selective graces are to thank for his ability to lunge for balls, he has one hell of an ego. But that's just it, to christians that means he has one hell of a god. God is just an extension of your own ego, a figment of your mind to support itself with. It is much more redeeming for your ego to realize your individual self-worth and to take credit for your own accomplishments. That is satisfaction.

    >A random sample of adult Americans is surveyed by interactive voice response (IVR) calls to landline and opt-in cell phones. At least 1,000 interviews are conducted each evening. Calls are made from 6:00pm to 9:00pm local time in each time zone. Quotas are set for each time zone to assure national representation. Data are weighted by age, race, and gender. Questions of a political nature are additionally weighted by political party affiliation.
Seems like a pretty decent polling method. This poll also has n=1,076, so there's at most a 3% margin of error.

    >Tim Tebow is the Anti-Christ

    >More accurately he is the Horseman of Conquest.

    >I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come" I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
    >- Revelations 6:1-2

    >Tim Tebow is riding a White Horse (The Denver Broncos mascot is a white horse) to fame and holds a bow. (his famous quarterback throwing arm) He will be "crowned" in February after winning the Super Bowl. From here on the US will attack Iran over nuclear weapons, the Red Horseman (China) will retaliate with nukes of their own, full-blown nuclear war stars. Last man on earth dies on December 21, 2012.

Anyway, I'm religious and I don't even know wtf is going on with the whole Tebow thing. Its not like there aren't a ton of football players. Maybe it just means that God is a source of inspiration and confidence for him, I mean that much is pretty obvious, right? It doesn't mean God is really rigging the football games so that way Tebow wins.

Christians are uneducated and are starting to fade as scientific advancement continues. A strong, clean, successful Christian man is something they can latch on to and draw some inspiration from.
    >> Anonymous 01/14/12(Sat)04:19 No.1125143
    >>1124971

Well, seeing as how Divine Intervention isn't just a bubble that prevents group wipes, and to religious people, it can be pretty much anything from inspiration to Statues crying blood, I'd say that those two questions are pretty much interchangeable according to the pollers.

And Since God is supposed to be Omnipotent, I don't think being a Tebows fan is diverting any attention from Africa, which has tons of humanitarian aid pumped into it as well as "doctors without borders" or whatever they call themselves running around all over the place.
