/mlp/ and G.rule 15 were actually made to protect the sensitive anuses of those who can't see a colored horse without bleeding their butts out.

If anything, the "containment" only made ponies an even more powerful butthurt causing bait.

/mlp/ was created because a very vocal minority complained about a few people posting pony related content on /b/ and /co/.

it made it appear as if the MLP fanbase was a big problem on 4chan, thus moot created a board for it.

the problem was that there literally was only one or two posts every few hours about mlp on any given board, and the majority of the mlp fanbase was situated on other chans with mlp boards or elsewhere. once moot created mlp the userbase exploded and the 'brony problem' that vocal minorities had complained about actually came into existence.

tl;dr: faggots complaining about non existent problem, solution created the problem in the first place, and also semi-fixed it.

the same thing happened with /pol/ and with /lgbt/

The presence of ponies on /co/ was also a huge detractor from that board though. People pissed off with bronies followed them back to /co/ from all over 4chan/the internet to talk shit, and their ire really tore up /co/ as a whole. They were ostensibly wrecking the board with their mere presence even if they were strictly keeping to the one thread they were allowed. Not to mention a ton of /co/ hated them for many reasons as it was, so really it was best for them to go before they sank the entire board.

There were times the /b/ pony threads would fill to post limit in FIFTEEN FUCKING MINUTES. HOLY FUCK YOU ARE ARE DUMB.

Just delete the board, moot. Now there's plenty of other places. The newfags and summerfags go to ponychan, the anons and older posters go to mlpchan, the rest disperse to the rest of the fandom, and some whiny faggots try to 'crusade' to post again on /b/ and /co/, but with severely limited numbers and eventually just give up or only maintain a cursory presence there.

Right now is the best time to do it. The board has never been slower or less creative and the hiatus is only half over.

I never gave a shit about ponyfags, in fact I hate them; I'm just sayin' that there was a legitimate reason to kick them off /co/ because they brought in so many outsiders looking to pick a fight with them and by extension anyone on /co/ defending them, which some people did because of all that "co is love" bullshit.

Anyway, the ugly truth is that ponyfags are such whiny, entitled little bitches that if their board got deleted, they would just sperg out all over 4chan like they did in 2010-11. One of the only major problems with 4chan is that pathological faggots -cannot- be kept out of it, and that includes bronies, because of the porous nature of anon posting and bans being via IP. So, their board exists. Not because they deserve it, but to act as a jail cell because Global 15 locks them into there. No other group has gotten quarantined as hard as they have in 4chan history, and the first response of mods was to just ban them all on sight in massive waves, which they tried multiple times. Unfortunately, quarantine is about all that can be done without majorly disrupting the fabric of the entire site, and frankly bronies are not worth the trouble.
