So moot said no to /cel/ in last night's PMQ and I will email him about it because I read the sticky so this isn't a board request (or even a passive-aggressive request while denying it is a request) but I would like to ask the community what the reasoning would be for not adding it.

I know "Because moot said no" is sufficient but it'd be much less saddening to see almost half the threads on /hr/ being celeb stuff if I heard anything explaining a potential downside because I can't think of any and I saw several other members of other boards say it would help their favorite boards as well.
>>
I can't find his specific post but I believe he said it would be rewarding bad behavior since /tv/ was waifuspammed for a while. Don't want to give the impression you can spam a board mercilessly and moot will surrender to your demands.

The spam is likely not intentional; it's just like how /gif/ was full of porn, leading to the creation of /wsg/
>>
>>595793
I can understand that but I can't say there has any bad behavior in /hr/.

In this case it's just like the /jp/ split from /a/ where there is so much of two distinct things (in this case threads about celebs and threads not about celebs) that it makes sense from my viewpoint.

This is the only way to prove the mods and janitards are incompetent and ruining 4chan.

/mlp/ happened because there's a community spamming every fucking board on 4chan 24/7. The /cel/ guys only spam /tv/ for a short period of time. If he can gather some more guys and start to spam every single board with different IPs 24/7 for a month, moot will give in or he has to close 4chan.

Actually a better reason for a celeb board is that actresses aren't the only types of celebs that people want to discuss.
You'd get many threads based upon the following that would not be welcome on /tv/

-musicians
-gaming personalities
-athletes
-business women and politicians

The thing is they don't and never have. Just half way through 2011 it was suddenly decided that they weren't allowed on the board anymore. Thank infectedi7mushroom because he is likely the cause of all this.
>>
>>601349
I wouldn't know, I've never been to TV. All I know is that half-way through 2011 two boards that I do go to got invaded by celebs.

this.

fine. so all the waifu posters will move to /s/, which is where Moot said it should go.

cry moar, you whiny /q/ueer bitches. maybe you spergtards should have just let them stay where they were.
>>
>>597957
The point is that /hr/ is not the only board that would benefit from a /cel/ or /idol/ board, we've been over this.

/tv/ would benefit from losing actress threads, /hr/ would benefit as is obvious from OP's screenshot, /v/ and /vg/ and /mu/ would benefit from losing KPop and vidya waifu threads, the list goes on.

There's a clear market/demand here and moot is just ignoring it completely because he's an idiot and takes years and months to finally see the sense in something while everyone else sort of facepalms and says "we told you so" under our breath.

>>

This.

I have nothing against celeb threads, have even saved and posted to some, and would prefer they have their own happy home.

I don't think any rules would have to change for other boards as people who want to focus on individuals will simply want to spend more time at the board dedicated to them.
>>
>>595718 (OP)

How bout we don't create such a cancerous shitheap of a board? /mlp/ is bad enough.

>>
>>598827

Are you serious? Both of those threads were devoid of discussion besides maybe 2 posts.

>>609726

Bingo. /cel/ is stupid and the waifu problem will subside as long as people keep reporting posts. We have to slowly change the way the community posts about actresses.

>but muh board culture

/tv/ has specific rules against /cel/ posting, so it absolutely has something to do with moderation on /tv/. Giving the waifu fags /cel/ would set a precedent of rewarding shitposters with a board of their own.

Also since you've freely admitted you don't browse /tv/, how can you assume you know how /cel/ would affect the board?

>>623126
meanwhile, you've contributed nothing to this thread
>>
>>623134

>meanwhile, you've contributed nothing to this thread

And I've been wise enough to keep from posting excessively in here. It's something called "restraint" which you fucks have no concept of.

Protip: when you find yourself incapable of staying true to the topic of the thread, it's time to stop posting. Turning this thread into a circlejerk about the woes of /tv/ without even marginally relating it to the /cel/ issue means you've hit that point.
>>
>>623137

I can't tell if you're just willfully stupid or trolling me. I'm going to assume the former.

Ignore the idiots asking for /tv/ thread deletions. You're correct that their posts are in the wrong thread, and that's not even considering that /q/ doesn't function as a second report button.

But /tv/ will always weigh in on any topic involving /cel/ because the waifuists got their start on /tv/ (yea I know /a/, fuck off with your semantics). So any changes that affect them will invariably affect /tv/. The only reason they've flocked to /hr/ recently is because we finally have a janitor that actually 404s their shitposting on /tv/ and they're looking for a new home.

>And I've been wise enough to keep from posting excessively in here

Click my ID. I've posted maybe half a dozen times. And I've related them all back to /cel/. Weird huh? And like I said before, the only thing you've contributed to this thread so far is whining that people aren't adhering to the topic. Apparently your definition of "restraint" is synonymous with "I can't form opinions on my own and therefore call out others on stupid shit."

So how about instead of being a whiny bitch, actually engage in the discussion.
>>
>>622149
So to sum up your position, you don't care about /hr/ you only care about /tv/ and you think there shouldn't be a /cel/ because you don't reward shitposting but they aren't shitposting in /hr/ so really you are just being vindictive and self-centered.
>>

Not really, no. But I wouldn't wish the waifufags on any board. I wish they would just fuck off of 4chan. But that will never happen.

it's not a theory, it's reality. New boards are rarely added. Don't like all the waifu shit on /hr/? Lobby to have the board rules changed. That's what we did on /tv/ and it worked.

The threads in this image are from the false flagger. He pulled a bunch of images of random actresses off wikifeet and is using a script to flood /hr/ with them in order to prove that we need /cel/.

Ironically enough this will prevent /cel/ from being created, as he doesn't want to reward bad behavior.
>>

But the original picture is legit. Honest non-bad-behavior posters filling half of /hr/ with celebrities.

The creation of /pol/ and /mlp/ contradict that...
>>
>>634586
/pol/ and /mlp/ were created because large numbers of people across all boards clearly presented a desire for boards dedicated to that kind of discussion. This is one person using a script to spam /tv/. Hardly the same thing.

Most people who post celebrities on /tv/ don't seem to want a /cel/ from what I've seen.

This is bait.

Ignoring the bait.

Blame the redditards and /q/ueers for turning /tv/ into Reddit 2.0.

/hr/ is ours now.

deal with it.

The problem with you, and posters like you, is that you spam pics of your celebrity crushes incessantly, and you derail threads for your inane gossip. It's one thing to talk about actresses, but you and your group wouldn't moderate yourselves.

except that we did. you fucking chucklehead.
>>
>>636669
No, you didn't. Hence sterner moderation. I do think a /cel/ board would be reasonable; it makes more sense than /v/2.0 or /b/2.0.
>>
>>636668
as opposed to posting GoT or RLM or superhero movie du jour "incessantly"

go fuck yourself
>>
I don't understand why the conversation always returns to a handful of /tv/ trolls.

Here's another look, sorted by most replies. At the top it's 2/3rds celebs.
>>
Just make a waifu board already Moot
You gave one for /mlp/
Give one for these cancerous fucks
>>
>>635961
It appears so.

>>637572
Because /tv/ is the one having the real problems.

>>639984
So the majority of the /hr/ community wants to post and discuss high res images of celebrities so what?
