rules 1 and 2 were not respected, and thus faggotry contaminated 4chan.

People who bitch about reddit on 4chan are the same shitposters who are ruining 4chan. It's just the latest scapegoat the shitposters use to explain why 4chan is sinking in quality. Before it was reddit, it was summer, before it was summer it was gaia. The real reason is the idiots bitching about other websites instead of just making better threads. You can cry about other sites existing but it won't make 4chan better.

There are, believe it or not, some people on this site who don't get into a frothing rage whenever the very existence of reddit is mentioned. These same people also don't get into a state of immense personal discomfort and anxiety whenever someone posts a link to reddit. Surprisingly, it just so happens that the owner of this site is one of these anomalous personalities, and therefore allows links to be posted. Getting upset over links to reddit is just plain immature and stupid, a ridiculous over-the-top (and generally baseless) reaction to a link to a website that you don't like.

(For the record I don't use reddit, but I suspect at least 90% of people who spam "gb2 reddit" don't use it either. I've never understood the "reddit hate" and frankly the only reasons that have ever been given to me to justify it have proven to be bullshit upon investigation. I highly suspect the whole thing is just to fit in and seem "cool").

Until then I'm just not gonna go. And for everyone involved in secret club shitflinging, let me just say this. No, it shouldn't be an exclusive club where you have to prove years of membership to post a reply. BUT, there are certain conventions and means of posting which should be learned and respected. These have been almost entirely eroded by people who learn about 4chan from knowyourmeme, 9gaag, or some other website, hop over here, and get confused when every post isn't so funnay me-mes. All we so-called "sekrit-klubfags" want is that people act like they're on fucking 4chan. Lurk for a bit. Learn the style of discourse. Remember what's acceptable and unacceptable. Don't post like you're on a different website, because you aren't. God knows individual site cultures have been almost wiped out in 2013. 4chan is one of the few which can be distinguished from the broad mass of Web 2.0, and I want it to stay that way.
