I feel that there are so many futa threads on /d/ that futa should have its own board. I thought it was trolling at first but there are more and more threads made all the time.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

This is an /a/ doujin thread. Notice how the lack of NSFW pictures makes actual discussion much better.

Sometimes I wish boards were divided by topics instead of anime/3dpd/western
>trap/shemale/futa board
>fetish board
>both include 3dpd and hentai
>>
I agree with OP. I do not mind sharing a board and all but it's a bit silly. For an alternative porn board there isn't that much alternative porn.

>Tentacles? Futa
>Monster girls? Futa
>Giantess? Futa
>Femdom? Fucking more futa

It makes my butt inflamed when tentacle threads rot with only 3 posts or my precious giantess has tits like stadiums but a penis like a skyscraper to ruin the whole thing.

So on /a/, we have these kind of shitty weekend waifu drawthreads, that have been going on for over a year now. People post their waifus, drawfags draw some of them, people have a good time.

But in the downtime between making requests and waiting for deliveries, a lot of the thread devolves into pure shitposting, with people bitching about each other, whining about not getting deliveries, or posting bullshit to get the rest of the thread riled up. Weekend waifu threads always hit the post limit, and at least 300 posts a thread are pure shitposting.

So enter Mr. Janitor, who wants to help the threads. But he doesn't have the time to devote to babysitting a thread all fucking weekend. If we're lucky, he might delete shitposting in one thread, and get a mod to ban some of the worst offenders for the weekend. But everyone knows bans do nothing.

So instead of moderating the threads, he just deletes every thread that starts before Saturday, when we've spent years starting them on Friday night. Given that's when the weekend starts. It's an utterly fruitless effort that just pisses people off, and it makes zero sense.

Exactly, which is why /v/ material should go to /v/. The "adaptations are allowed to be discussed rule" is there so that people can discuss the adaptation of video games or whatever, because people are probably interested in it and the natural board for it would be /a/. It is NOT there as an extra rule that allows the video game itself to be posted freely.
>>
>>559120
So you're saying that a Clannad request would not be allowed?
>>
>>559124
see >>559102
VNs and LNs which have adaptations are not the same as video games with an adaptation.

LNs with adaptations belong on /a/ as explicitly stated by the rules. The rules regarding VNs with adaptations aren't as explicit but mods sure act like they get the same treatment as LNs with adaptations. Meanwhile there is nothing that suggests that video games themselves are allowed on /a/ even if they have an adaptation.

The /sp/ mod keeps deleting the Boston thread about the Boston marathon bombing. Clearly this is sports related since the cops were chasing the suspects of that bombing.

Please moot, tell the mod to lay the fuck off!! This is a national story about a bombing during a sporting event and it should not be considered off-topic!!

It's not the people starting the threads' fault that they get spammed. It's just one asshole who wants to ruin the thread for everyone. Punishing them for that would just make the spammer happy.

THIS. Trips feed off of the attention and butthurt caused by them acting like retards. You know the trip is a retard, you don't need to yell at him. Ignore/filter him, it will do a lot more than any ban could ever do.

No attention = no desire to trip. Simple as that.

can we have a split off board for /a/ that deals in board culture stuff? (IE waifuism, tummy thread, etc.) I get it that it's part of /a/ but it's pretty annoying drudging through image dumps/waifu threads to look for a worth while thread.
I know that moot has a stance on new boards but I thought this might be worth trying out.

When this is all over I hope there is a decent post-mortem look at 4chan and its relationship with the media, especially with the efforts to attempt to find the Boston Marathon bombers.
The story of 'internet wizards find Boston suspects' was too good to not publish. The media portrayed it as hackers using their intelligence and the resources of the internet to track down criminals, but it ended up being nothing more than some people flicking through photos and profiling based on race, appearance etc.

In total I saw over two dozen people marked as 'suspects'. I open Facebook and my non-tech friends are all sharing homemade 'WANTED' posters with full pictures of the people identified. Everybody was suspect until they were 'cleared' - the very definition of a witch hunt. Digital vigilante justice.

Nobody learned their lesson, because it was only a couple of hours later that the media were reporting that suspect #2 was the missing Brown kid. I switched on prime time news in Australia and the news that the Brown student was terrorist suspect number two was the top story! Speechless.

I tried in vain to get the threads removed by reporting them but got nowhere. The privacy right of individuals are being torn apart by online mobs (I was told in a reply that if I have nothing to hide I have nothing to worry about). It depresses me to think that nothing will be learned from this entire experience.

This is exactly why the government feels like they should get involved in regulating the internet, because we aren't taking care of it ourselves. I can already see how a case will be put together next week using the 4chan witch hunt threads as a reason why the internet needs censorship. Think about what our responses are going to be to that.

this was glorious and i look forward to it happening again
>>
>>559018 (OP)
It's natural to see a possible suspect and assume the worst, regardless of race. I thought it was the brown guy in blue and the whit guy in black; both were innocent.

I don't think it really matters as long as the real perpetrators get published by the FBI, generally then people move on from those caught in the cross fire because they had a backpack.

Post IDs really should be added to all boards, I think. Anyway, my other idea

Know what'd be a fun lil' goof? Stick Robot9000 on all boards for a while. Maybe for moot's birthday. It'd be a laugh riot. Or stick a new Robot on /b/ for a bit. I'm sure the coding has improved in the interim years. Anyway, this has been a suggestion from a layabout moron who knows nothing about bandwidth, etcetera. Feel free to have already stopped reading by now
>>
>>559084 (OP)
>It'd be a laugh riot

how's that? the text robot just makes people shit post by adding garbage to the end of their post, and the image robot just makes people have to do a tiny edit.
>>
>>559092
Hence improved coding. I'm hecka sure that there's a way of comparing images to a percentage of similarity. Percentage of originality throughout the whole post would be important, not adding bloxmootblox to the end of everything.

Why are constant wrestling threads being allowed to flourish on /asp/?
For one, wrestling isn't even a sport, it's a reality show.
Second, even if you're eight and still think it's an actual sport, it does not qualify as an alternative sport under the guidelines set by the /asp/ sticky.

/asp/ can be a great board, if we get rid of all this wrestling shit posting.
192 posts and 17 image replies omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>558333
Exactly. It has no place there and only serves to distract from the overall discussion, and as a result it drives down the posts that are actually relevant to the eclectic nature that the board was developing into until WRASSSLIN MANIA, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! just kind of fucked stuff up.
>>
>>558102
... not really. It just appears that they is alot to discuss,
angles
characters
brands
different circuits
old guys
up and coming guys
the list goes on.
It seems to much for a general. maybe a couple of generals could do it ?
There are a fair few airsoft threads and martial arts threads plenty of skate threads but the /woo/ crowd doesnt moan ?
I also dont think it drives anyone away from the board, it may annoy people but it doesnt scare them off like a wild animal bolting away into the woods, thats a stupid argument. atm there are plenty of threads about other topics.
>>
>>558942
/asp/ sticky:
>Discussions of professional sports teams, leagues and athletes should be posted on /sp/

Everything you just said is covered under that.
So wrestling get's special privileges compared to all the other Alternative Sports?

Not to mention constant, blatant spam (right now, there's a WWE thread that's just a pic of a diva- didn't even bother to post a title).

Face it, wrestling just doesn't fit in with actual Alternative Sports (you know, where people actually discuss the SPORT, like technique, equipment..).

It came to my attention that boards like /g/ are getting more and more threads with responses like this:
>dont listen to this retard get this product
>I just got one and I couldnt be happier
>etc.

It's hard to detect which are genuine and which is actual astroturfing, because that is the nature of astroturfing. But it becomes more obvious when the smae thread gets posted over and over with the same kind of responses like this one

>>>/g/33161041
This thread gets posted almost every day on /g/, with the general consensus being you would benifit with a cheap soundcard over your onboard soundcard. This is total utter bullcrap. And I doubt there are people browsing /g/ which would consider this and post a question about it every day. And if they do, they would know by now already since this thread gets posted so often.

So could the moderators be so kind and delete these threads more?
3 posts omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>558944
lol. Yes, this is very obvious.

Just think about this:
Astroturfing is the most cheap form of advertising and the most effective. There are probably dozens, maybe hundreds of astroturfers working their shifts on 4chan looking for threads to respond to or making their own threads.
>>
>>558952
So basically you have no way of proving it.
>>
>>559019
Did you look at the thread? >>>/g/33161041

Especially these posts:
>>>/g/33161113
>>>/g/33161130
>>>/g/33161161
>>>/g/33161203
>>>/g/33161191

With other threads it would be more difficult, for example AMD vs. Intel threads. There will be genuine users who debate about the benefits of each chip manufacturer. I am aware that astroturfing in these threads will be hard to identify. Still, if you would examine these threads more closely you will see them.
