It embeds imgur links as thumbnails, so you can post some nasty r34 without being banned or in this case, post duplicate files without having to copy paste a link into your address bar and open up a new tab.
Like I said, there are easier ways to do it yet the guy who was dumping the comic wanted to take the difficult route.
