hardmode activated, no /mlp/

my vote goes for /tv/

/tv/ as that's where the pedo's now reside.
>>
/v/, They use to talk about video games even if they hated them. Now Its a abomination.
>>
/r9k/ or /pol/
They're always whining. About nothing. At least the other boards whine about tangible concepts. Or intangible, in /x/'s case. /r9k/ is always complaining about how they hate women, but really want to fuck them. And /pol/ is just teenagers trying to be edgy by screaming about niggers and jews because they can't do that in school.

I wonder who could be behind this post
>>
>>400879
Well hello there, Stormfront!
>>
/r9k/ hands down.

I get that this website isn't full of the most charismatic cunts to walk the Earth, but at least most of us are content and aren't looking for an e-shoulder to cry on because someone looked at them funny in high-school. It pains me to no end knowing the faggot over at /r9k/ are actually real people.
>>
>>400879
Just because people know /pol/ is horrible doesn't mean they're a jew.
>>
/a/ is definitely the worst board that I browse often.
>>
>>400873
No, faggots like you are whining about /pol/ and the majority of /pol/ is doing nothing. It's just faggots who want to make /pol/ look bad shitting up your board.

On a sort of related note, the quality of /pol/ has improved quite a bit since the random flags were removed.
>>
>>400834 (OP)
>my vote goes for /tv/

Agreed. Filter out the shit, and /v/ is pretty good vidya discussion with nice taste in games.

Filter out the shit, and /tv/ is still bad at movie discussion. There's almost none of it, and they mostly like blockbusters that everyone's seen.
>>
i wouldn't say there is a worst board. what disappoints me most is that so much of 4chan is so easily trolled.

years ago, 4chan had a reputation for invincibility, and back then, 4chan was /b/.

now, everyone on 4chan mocks /b/. and most of the other boards are more easily trolled than any other place on the internet.

how the fuck did this happen?
>>
>>401056
>good vidya discussion
Have you been to /v/ in the last year?

/mu/ because of it's content or /a/ because of it's users

>>
>>401064
>Have you been to /v/ in the last year?

Key phrase was:

>Filter out the shit,

Ignore all the bad post and threads. There's still a core of good video game threads. If you ignore all the bad posts, there is almost nothing of value on /tv/. Their best discussion is terrible.
>>
/a/. /jp, and /mlp/

>huehuehue /v/ is bad

It's actually pretty decent whenever it's early/late enough that all the American underageb&s are asleep/in school.

I'd say /mu/ is the worst board by quite a wide margin. Worse than /b/ by several orders of magnitude even.
>>
>>401135
The places filled with the biggest losers actually.
>>
>>401140
So not because of the quality, but because you just think they're nerds?

/tv/, by far.

>dole music starts playing
>Americans pretending to be British to troll both Americans and Brits
>big guy, for you
>oval worship
>"taps," pedophiles all
>my hands are dirty
>that feelio when no child actress to strangle
>threads that die of old age, the contents of which are the fucking weather in England

It's some kind of clown-show.
>>
>>401147
because clearly anyone who dislikes /pol/ and the users their can only be a jew.
>>
/pol/ is by far the worst board, with the most unpleasant userbase.
>>
/mlp/, not because I hate the subject, but it's community is shit.

They feed obvious shitposting trolls like this >>>/mlp/7871429 and thanks to the fact that the board has next to no moderation, these threads get flooded with the whole "OP is shitposting therefore I have the right to shitpost in this thread" mentality to the point where they have 100+ replies. The mods could do shit but they just assume "Hey, as long as it doesn't have the sentence 'I don't get the appeal', it can stay".

Even worse, at the end of the day, everyone just says "The real thing that makes /mlp/ bad is the abundance of generals", what they don't know is that they're shitting on themselves

I know this is easy mode, but fuck it, at least backed my statement up
>>
/r9k/ is pretty bad but its just /b/ with an originality fliter thing placed over it so I never really expected much from the board.

my vote has to be /v/. it's near imposible to find a real thread about video games without someone spaming the words casual, artificial, pleb, and scrub. that and there are a hand full of off topic threads on /v/ at any one moment and the report button seems to be broken.
>>
/pol/ is the worst board, if for no other reason than the fact that they blame literally all of their problems on outside conspiracies. See these posts:

>>400879
>>401043
>>401147

In the /pol/tard's mind, nothing is ever their own fault. *Nothing*. /pol/ has the reputation as the most hideous board on all of 4chan purely because some massive conspiracy is devoted to making this group of nobodies on an obscure corner of the internet look bad.

Egocentrism at its finest. The universe revolves around them. The Internet lets them pretend they're bold revolutionaries bravely defending The Truth(tm) against a giant evil conspiracy. They want to believe this, because who they are in real life are fat, friendless, jobless, cheeto dust-covered neckbeards living in their parents' basements.

Here's some advice to you /pol/tards: You're not changing the world by spamming 4chan. You are not. You change the world by doing protests, petitions, voter rallies. Things that require actual *effort*. No secret evil conspiracy is going to bother with you if all you're doing is hanging out in an obscure corner of the Internet, pissing in an ocean of piss. Condolences, stormfags: the bums lost. My suggestion to you is to do what your parents did: get a job, sirs. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, stormfags? The bums will always lose!

every answer but /q/ is wrong

/q/ is a fucking forum growing out of 4chan's withered body like a tumor and while I did not originate that metaphor I am sure as shit going to keep using it because it is correct
>>
/b/ is pretty bad for obvious reasons, people literally have no imagination and can't make an original thread for trying. I've made some original threads on /b/ and people had no idea how to react. I'd follow up with /v/ and /a/ being the next worse. /a/ is full of low powerlevels and /v/ is so far removed from videogames that it's actually shocking.
>>
/mlp/, fuck hard mode.
>>
>>403725
But why ? Do you got good reasons ?
>>
>>403729
Because it's about a cartoon with talking animals in it.

Nah. They never used to talk about video games. They've made big strides in getting better.
>>
/mu/, /sp/, /co/
>>
/tv/
I would say /v/. But it was actually improving before DmC was released. And then it started getting spammed with America vs. Europe, etc. It still has good early morning and late night threads. And hopefully with 2013 bringing in a lot of new and good games the board quality will increase. But this is all, of course, wishful thinking. All it would take to improve board quality would be to filter ironic shitposting terms such as "le" and "XD" when used on their own.
>>

The most pathetic thing is you actually care enough and are butthurt enough about those people to spend time on /pol/ and study their activities and take the time to write up that wall of text that you probably have in a .txt on your desktop so you can copy paste in to any thread that will let you cry about mean old /pol/
>>
>>401173
This
Several times over
There are too many people who whine about how bad the board is and then actively make it worse by replying to troll threads and generally shitposting everywhere

Go back to your board. No one wants you here.

I would say either /mu/,/pol/ or /v/.

Please post more intelligent post on /q/ that contribute to the board, rather than "I don't like you please leave". Thank you.
>>
/mlp/. I'm being serious, I like the show and I use to go on the board. They barely discuss the show. Its just fetish generals and shitposting, even when an episode airs there is very little discussion.
Other boards might have off topic discussions and shitposting but not as bad as /mlp/.

If a vote for /mlp/ is not allowed, I'd have to go with /v/

Then it got out of hand.

at least the writers on showtime believe me.
>>
>>404381
>horsefuckers are not the kinds of people who belong on 4chan
Pray tell, what are the kinds of people who belong on 4chan?

I didn't realize 4chan was a gated community. The site owner has repeatedly said, "everyone is welcome on 4chan".

Also, I'm pretty sure nobody here fucks horses.

Then again, judging by your posts in other threads, I'm pretty sure you cannot tell the difference between cartoons and reality. I think you need professional mental help.

Does part of being "grown up" not include the simple ability to ignore the things you don't like?

See, I am a grown up. I've been a grown up for a long time. All my years of life experience has taught me that it's a world full of people and those people aren't going to all like what I like or dislike what I dislike.

The single most "grown up" thing you can do is shrug and move on when something isn't hurting anyone.

What you're doing is exactly what 10 year olds do when they don't get their way: They spam/cry incessantly until someone slaps their shit or gives in just to shut them up.

This is his hobby, his baby. We all have a breaking point.

Imagine you have a hobby (I'm not saying you don't, but I don't know you). Say, you grow tomatoes in a garden. You start sharing your tomatoes with your neighbors.

They start sharing your tomatoes with their friends and family.

Time passes.

One day you wake up and go out into your garden and there are 500 people you've never met standing there screaming at you about how you're doing your tomatoes wrong or that you need to include baskets with them or that you're a "fucking kike" for not banning snap peas from the garden.

I'd burn the place to the ground and piss on the ashes and tell all these idiots to go build their own garden.

moot's a far more patient man than I.

>2013 is all downhill from here.
Well, there is still hope. Unfortunately, I have no actual suggestions for improvement. Doesn't even really need it.

4chan is fine. It's a terrific place and I enjoy the hell out of it and I will go down with the ship. They won't drive me away.

It's like that bar you go to because they make great martinis and have baseball on the television, but it's always full of rowdy drunken teenagers. You always mutter to the bartender, "This would be a great place without the customers."
>>
/v/. It got so bad it had to be split up into three different board and just the other day at least half of the threads on the front page of /q/ were complaints about /v/.
>>
moot, do you ever get sad that you can't just sperg out and ban/delete/kill everything and everyone on 4chan without having the 'Web 2.0' online community and social media 'experts' judging you while they praise themselves for maintaining generic communities flooded with post-2007 internet culture bandwagon jumpers?

It's a shame that what was just a screwball imageboard is now seen by many to be the benchmark of some kind of social experiment in anonymity.
>>
Confine weeaboos to their boards, finally pull the fur 2.0 we've all been waiting for, and rule with the iron fist you're supposed to. What the fuck are you doing with your time moot? Masturbating? It's time to fucking do something.

>>
God moot, stop being such a fucking pussy and do something.
>>
>>404542

I kind of agree. I love(d)? 4chan...I think in order for the original spirit to live on, 4chan must die. Any other imageboard created just ends up being 4chan 2.0 - no unique community just the same shit over and over, with a lot of talk of 4chan anyway.

It's sad really, 4chan reminds me of the pile of beer bottles/trash/dirty laundry you keep in your room. At first it's cool that you can just let your shit pile up without a care, then it gets bigger and bigger and the fact it's getting bigger is just even funnier, then suddenly it gets so big that you realize it's no longer a funny joke, it's just a big pile of shit and your friends no longer see it as a running joke, but rather a sign that you've let yourself go and your room is no longer desirable because of the overwhelming stench.

Actually, wait. This isn't like a bunch of strangers having come barging into your garden.

This is the garden itself, moot. This is the place that you grew. This is the tomatoes, snap peas, carrots, corn, and hot peppers all having a huge fight in the middle of the cabbage patch, like Veggie Tales crossed with WCW Raw. Unlike other gardens, this one wilts in summer. This is what you sowed; reap it.
>>
>>404578
>like Veggie Tales crossed with WCW Raw
I would watch the shit out of that. Make it happen.
>>
>>404578
So what you're saying is that it's all his fault.
>>
>>404578

Not really, it's not like moot ever pushed the image of 4Chan that most people seem to have ingrained in their mind. 4Chan was relatively unknown until a headline on Fox News and some unruly con behavior somehow brought about the idea that 4Chan is some kind of elite hacktivist club rammed with CP and gore. People too often forget that there was a 4Chan before this image and it was vastly different to what the millions of users expect from 4Chan today. It really is like hundreds of strangers stampeding your garden and demanding the unreasonable.
>>

It's his site, isn't it? Who else's fault would it be?

To continue the posters-as-plants analogy, 4chan grows verdantly because anything can and does grow here. Only CAPTCHA keeps out the kudzu.

If moot wants better growth, he can get people to do weeding to remove the shitposters. (And by remove I mean month-long bans for a single Bateman) He can spray Roundup on /pol/, just like he did with /new/.

And he can avoid acting like he's getting mad because kids love to say that they managed to troll the administrator of 4chan, the most anarchic board in the world. It's like he's the final boss of trolling.

He can also just stop giving a fuck, ignore his screaming plants, and let the whole place go to seed.

Or he can just do what he's doing now and let people continue to cry about it.

But sitting on his hands whimpering when he can choose how much he wants to do about the problems? Sorry, moot, no sympathy here. This is your fetus to abort.

>>404614

But was the image inaccurate?

Actually, that whole business really has little to do with what's going on now. Take a look at /b/- how much of it has anything to do with what was posted five years ago?

He's posted his anti-anime campaign in every thread and even made one of his own and probably either doesn't realize that his ID hasn't changed at all, or simply doesn't care because he's a troll.

Either way, it's entertaining.
>>

Can someone please explain to me how and why janitors are a thing? Imagine working in a Walmart with dozens of monkeys throwing poop everywhere. Having that job is like being responsible for cleaning up monkey shit without being able to throw the monkeys out, only able to point to a monkey and say "Bad monkey, someone else will throw you out later"... while it shits all over the floor repeatedly.

Oh and you don't get paid either.

It's a terrible job -- they are Saints for doing it.

The orientation e-mail that I wrote in 2006 ends with "WELCOME TO HELL, KIDDOS." It hasn't changed, because it's still true.
>>
>>404727
Because, now, janitors can block a person from posting for 15 minutes. In that time, hopefully a moderator can give a yea-nay on a ban.

Also, a ban can be evaded. A post or a thread can't be un-deleted.
>>
>>404713
>To add accountability to what you say.
Having the ID for one thread is enough though. Trolls will just reset their ID anyway, so they can adopt different positions at any time they want.
>If it bothers you that much, get a dynamic IP.
I don't care about my ID, but faggots like UmKVUH5U and c6oXHibb (among others which I don't remember) are clearly attention-whoring thanks to global IDs.

I feel that permanent IDs don't really stop the trolling and samefagging more than thread-unique IDs, but allow for the equivalent of tripfagging.
>>
>>404732
>>How is adding more janitors coming along moot?
>Good, actually. We added two small batches last week. I'll announce it in a news post shortly.

That's good.

When you were talking about adding janitors when /q/ opened up, you said that new boards would be added after that happened. What's the timeframe on that looking like?
>>
>>404687
>Only the trolls know how to ban evade, but your garden variety brony does not.

You don't even need to know how to ban evade. My IP changes on it's own every day, so bans for me last at most 24 hours. Thankfully, I don't really find shitposting entertaining, so I don't get myself banned.
>>
>>404679

And that right there is why the recent spate of people advocating for permanent ID, board ID, and the like site wide are wrong. Where is the anonymity in shit like that. You may as well just replace UmKVUH5U and C6oXHibb with Timmy1885 and the Reeferqueefer420. Welcome to Youtube.

>>
>>404745
I know. Unique IDs per thread stop trolling and samefagging to a high degree. My point is that global IDs doesn't add anything else other than the ability to have a forced trip. Which in some cases leads to trolls being able to "build-up" a name and feed themselves with attention.

Anyway, I'll stop because this is off-topic and it's not really that important. And I have to admit that as long as no one takes them seriously (which seems to be the case) it's entertaining to see.

The ponies, to their credit, keep to themselves. The bronies, on the other hand, are full-on ban evading shitposters.

>>
>>404636

Yes the image is completely inaccurate. After the mainstream hit of popularity, people had expectations of 4chan. It was notorious on the internet and so it brought people who only saw this notorious side and thought this was the true face of the board.

Because this group is so large they act like this has always been the case and it becomes 'accepted fact' even when the truth is very different. The reason so many people think 4chan is shit is because they are leeches - they come to 4chan expecting the 'culture' to entertain them; expecting someone in the ether to come up with an epic new meme to make them laugh.

But really they just drove those original, creative people away. Now we have memes which are revisions of previous memes; people only have the past to copy from because they came with expectations. 4chan has not flowed naturally in that respect. 4chan is desperate to regain it's true self, but the burst in popularity has left that ideal twisted and so people end up demanding things of the board which were never a problem in the first place.

It's like the trendy kids suddenly becoming interested in a new song your favorite musician or band makes, and then suddenly going crazy and giving them shit when their new music isn't like the song they first liked when it was popular in the mainstream.

Surely you would be pretty pissed off and think they're pretty entitled right?
>>
>>404978
>primary audience has become 40/yr old neckbeards

That's just like your opinion. So...
>>
>>404845
>The ponies, to their credit, keep to themselves. The bronies, on the other hand, are full-on ban evading shitposters.
By that logic you should treat /pol/ users as bronies judging by the fact apparently no one there is able to keep to themselves on other boards. From here it doesn't look like you ban them at all (and if you do I doubt it's nowhere near 10k), instead choosing to play along with them. For example, after that one mentally ill brony posts in your threads you delete all his posts and ban him, but I keep seeing A Wyatt Man cartoons everywhere in your threads and outside them, why the double standard?
>>

Same way things are done now. Do you ever see bronies posting on /v/? No. Why do you think that is? Because they gave up. In the same way they'll give up posting on other boards, though deleting /b/ is probably a bad idea.

Actually, since they post on /b/, we should just delete /mlp/ and /co/, then condemn them to /b/.

>>405004
Who bred the cancer?
>>
>>404978
Bronies aren't the target or primary audience of the show, it's just that the staff tends to throw a bone or two to them once in a while so they feel important, plus the 8 year olds can't really organize conventions and shit so all the interaction between the staff and the viewers happens this way. And people fap to worse things than goat anime, it's just somewhere on par with generic furry, to which a good part of 4chan already faps to in secret and only pretends to hate furry because it's cool or because of furfags.

When I lurk /q/, it's with a "Let's see what the 4chan user base is butthurt about today!" mentality.
I rarely visit boards other than /b/, so it's quite funny to see that /b/ is one of the least complained about boards, despite being "the shittiest"
I did notice the first time I came here that /q/ was less "4chan Discussion" than it was "4chan Complaint Drop Box".
