>venture capital
If the bank loans you a million dollars, are you a millionaire?

Nope.

However, keep thinking that having capital is the same as owning dollars. You'll really enjoy that life of absolute poverty and homelessness when the bank comes asking for their money back.

>b-b-but i'm a millionaire!!
>fuck you, pay me.
>>
>>392794
I don't think you understand how "venture capital" works.
>>
>>392801
>>392804

They are just gonna give millions to someone who runs a website at a loss. Running a highly profitable website got him the money.
>>
>>392815
That's not how loans work, kid.

You're so proud of that pastebin, but actually follow the money itself and you'll find capital coming from places that specialize in start-ups.

Do you know what a "Start-up" is? It basically means a company created by someone who has never really done it before.

Never in the history of mankind has moot run a highly profitable website. 4chan is "potentially profitable", but is not "actually profitable". This is because 4chan is moot's hobby and doesn't want to make it profitable any more than I want to sell the tomatoes that I grow in my garden. It's a hobby.

Venture Capitalists also guide the spending and assume control of the venture. This means moot cannot spend a dime of those "muh 3 millionz" on his own personal shit.

Go learn how the real world works, child.
>>
>>392822

>Never in the history of mankind has moot run a highly profitable website.

To run site with the amount of traffic 4chan has he is either a multi millionaire or the dumbest cunt on the planet, you decide.

People with no money or secruity don't multi million dollar investments, not for that kind if site.

>This means moot cannot spend a dime of those "muh 3 millionz" on his own personal shit.

So he couldn't pay him self a massive salary, spent money to go traveling and call it business.

You are naive child if you think moot is not filthy rich.
>>
>>392836
You have no way of knowing what 4chan costs versus its income, so there's no point in even bringing it up. The official word is that 4chan loses money.

No, moot cannot pay himself a massive salary or spend money to go traveling with venture capitalists money.

Do you really not understand how this works? It's ok to admit that you don't. It is not necessary to understand how every aspect of the world works, but allowing yourself to believe, espouse, and spread half-truths, conjecture, and conspiracy theories just makes you look like a 12 year old who needs to be beaten severely over the head.

I am telling you to not listen to me. I am telling you to go look it up. Go see how it works, how the money can be spent, and from where the money came.

You're demanding people believe you without question.

You can have your sheep. I prefer skeptics.

>>392785
>JEWS!!!!!!!!!!!

>>
>>392815
You're thinking too literally, 4chan operates as a loss because it ISN'T run as a business. All of the start-up money came from Moot/Donations, not any businesses or major advertising deals. There is no board of directors or CEO of 4chan, moot is the sole proprietor. The advertisements are just enough to keep the site running. Moot has said himself many times that he could run pop-up ads and other annoying shit to milk 4chan for all its worth, but he doesn't because he isn't a fucking dick.

Moot got investment from VCs not because 4chan is a shining beacon of how to run a business but because of how much influence he has over internet culture WITHOUT any investment. VCs don't just hand out money to anyone, they want to double their money and pick sound investments. If Moot can make a web site as influential as 4chan with nearly zero investment, imagine what he can do with a few million?

THAT is the line of thinking that got canv.as VC funding, not some absurd notion that 4chan HAS to be run at a profit because otherwise VCs would never fund him.
>>
>>392846
>The official word is that 4chan loses money.
>You're demanding people believe you without question.

You contradict yourself.

Yes he can pay him self salary, are you sure you know how it works?

You can extrapolate how much a site cost to run, 4chan is not the only website in existence, traffic is known, advertising revenue can extrapolated, etc

People can make a educated guess that 4chan is a very profitable enterprise.

There other indicators as well as him getting millions for his other web site, he goes to NYU which isnt cheap, he lives in a luxury NY penthouse, he jet sets around the world, he mixes shoulders with NY high society. But its just poor little mootikins running 4chan from his moms basement, amirate.
>>
>>392859
>he lives in a luxury NY penthouse
You can't imagine how hard I'm laughing at you. Are you the same cretin who said this last thread?
>>
>>392857
>If Moot can make a web site as influential as 4chan with nearly zero investment,

moot is a hopless cunt and a accidental success. He has had zero input in to the success of 4chan. All he did was rip off a jap board for him his faggot friends to post cartoons. User content has been the sole driving force of 4chan's success. I would even say it has been a success despite moot, everything he does is fucking hopeless. See canv.as as proof.
>>
>>392859
>People can make a educated guess that 4chan is a very profitable enterprise.
how? there are practically no ads on here. do you think jlist gives moot millions of dollars? passes have only been on sale for a couple of months, do you think he's sold millions?
>>
>>392801
>>392822
Venture capital is not a loan you stupid dumbass.

There is no collateral in venture capital and moot does not have to repay anything.
>>
>>392859
>You can extrapolate how much a site cost to run
Then do it.

Not one of you tinfoil hatters has ever given an actual monetary figure. You just make baseless claim after baseless claim and expect us all to lap it up.

No. Show some proof.

> he goes to NYU
You can contact any university and ask if there is a student on record by giving a name and date of birth. No warrant is needed for this information. Christopher Poole, AKA moot, born November 1988 is not registered with the New York University system. Shall I continue to destroy your lies or are you willing to concede that you don't know diddly shit?
>>
>>392874
My point is that moot doesn't own or control the money.

Of course, I forget that if every syllable of every word isn't explained in excruciating detail, then the Aspie Brigade won't understand it.
>>
>>392880
Moot does own and control the money. Who do you think runs the company?

The venture capitalist bought certificates of stock in the hope that they could sell them at a higher price when the company goes public in the future.

The money is directly in the hands of canv.as, which is run by moot. If the company goes under, they have no claim to any of the money whatsoever.

No seriously, stop embarrassing yourself with your armchair financial expertise.
>>
>>392882
http://money.howstuffworks.com/question3981.htm

Educate thyself, son.
>>
>>392884
>HowStuffWorks

But that aside, I don't see anything that disproves my point.

When you invest in something, you are giving money to the company for a portion of the companies ownership a.k.a the company takes your money and does what it wants with it.

If the company is mismanaged and goes under, you cannot do anything against them, unless its explicitly clear that they were committing fraud - taking the money and running away from it -. Do you know what happened to pets.com? They got millions of dollars in VC and then went under; and then you know what happened to the funds? They disappeared along with the company. The VC cannot do anything against that.

No seriously, you're an embarrassment. Comparing a VC investment to a loan is ludicrous.
>>
>>392888
Furthermore, a loan is entirely different from VC because YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PAY BY LAW.

That's why in the business world, if you go bankrupt and have to liquidate, the creditors come first, and whatever else is left, it goes to the owners of the company a.k.a the investors.
>>
>>392897
>>392888
I don't think his point was that VC investment is a loan, his point was that for an individual, getting a loan of $X does not mean you are worth $X. Same with a company, getting a 3m VC investment does not mean moot is worth 3m.

But to your earlier point,
>Moot does own and control the money. Who do you think runs the company?
I doubt moot is sole proprietor of Canvas Networks. Do you honestly think that moot can just pocket the 3m in startup money? Or that he's giving himself a 400k a year salary? The business needs to survive and he has to justify his expenses, VC money is not magic from the sky that never runs out. I'm sure he wants canv.as to be as popular as 4chan and self sufficient.

Your point seems to be meandering about so lets go back to your first post ITT
>moot does not have to repay anything.
>If the company goes under, they have no claim to any of the money whatsoever.
Correct on both counts but they hinge on the company going under. As of right now, moot is not 3m richer nor can he write checks directly out of the investor account to buy himself whatever the fuck he wants. The 3m is an investment in a company that he owns and happens to work for, VCs didn't just hand moot 3m cash in a briefcase and say "MAKE US MONEY."

Now, if canv.as went under you might have a point. For now, there is no way to conclude that moot is "rich" or that 4chan is profitable because of something happening with an external business unrelated to 4chan.
>>
>>392920
>I doubt moot is sole proprietor of Canvas Networks.

He's not. He can't be because the VC owns certificate of stocks, but he is the manager and majority stock owner.

But he does get payed a salary.

It's just like winning the lottery: you have a fund of money that gets payed to you at certain intervals of time. Of course, this would imply that his sole purpose is to keep canvas afloat for as long as the funds are there, and then once exhausted he declares canvas bankrupt.

Furthermore, moot is worth that much because wealth is not just the amount of liquid cash you have available, but also the net worth of your assets.

Overall, 3 million nowadays won't make your rich by any stretch of the imagination, but his net worth is diffidently above a million.
>>
>>392939
>But he does get payed a salary.
True, and he earns that salary by way of his work on canv.as. And if I had to guess, he uses that salary to pay the server bills for 4chan.

I can agree with everything you said, people tend to throw around "MOOT IS RICH!!" which implies he's sitting on a mountain of cash. Yes, his net worth may be higher than most 4chan posters but does that mean that 4chan isn't struggling financially?

Since we're going by net worth and not cash on hand, how is moot being "worth" more affect the financial situation of 4chan? Since moot's net worth is tied up in canv.as stock and investment, the only way he could use that to fund 4chan would be to sell his stake in the company/sell the assets of the company.

I'm not asking you these questions directly because you're not one of the people ITT advocating that moot is rich and hates 4chan. I appreciate the information you posted and I hope it educates people.
>>
>>392946
>affect the financial situation of 4chan

Well, I think you answered your own question. He does have a pool, albeit a very illiquid pool of cash. But I think he's smart enough to take 4chan's cost into account when he makes his salary.
>>
>>392955
And thus, you have arrived at the conclusion we all understood: that moot pays for 4chan's losses from his salary.
>>
>>392965
Well, it's not like I didn't understand that part. He's said so himself.
>>
I believe this entire conversation can finally put to rest, once and for all, the question: Why doesn't 4chan have a business and finance board?
>>
>>392875
>You just make baseless claim after baseless claim and expect us all to lap it up.

Like we should lap up moot's lies, the way he cries poor so he can make 4chan seem much smaller operation than it is and milks neckbeards for money.

Indeed I do! As do our employees, because it's our full-time job.

>Furthermore, moot is worth that much because wealth is not just the amount of liquid cash you have available, but also the net worth of your assets.
Sorta correct, but an illiquid instrument priced privately is essentially funny money. Startup stock is worthless until there is some type of a liquidity event, be it a public offering, acquisition, inside financing, etc.

>>393853

His actions are not making any sense to me. Plus, way back when, there were a fuckton more namefags on /b/.

I don't see CP, people screaming "nigger" constantly, rolling for post numbers, kpop spam, or antisemitism as "fun" or "creative".

I dont know what board you go on.

I wasnt talking about /b/. /b/ is supposed to be containment for new people until they graduate to a normal board.
>>
>>394830
Ok, so what "fun" and "creativity" have been stifled?

I generally hang around /u/ and /jp/.
>>
>>394833

/sp here.

Well the fun aspect is that anything off-topic is being deleted. You are just gonna call me a shitposter here but I dont advocate or enjoy if the board is full of literal shitposting but threads that have been allowed for years on my board are suddenly being deleted.

Creativity comes from this too because lots of the funny moments have come from stuff like this.

Also people are now starting to shitpost in gamethreads because they enjoy having a community but instead of there being a meta thread or two to do this they have no where so are doing it in gamethreads/other sports threads therefore making sports threads full of off-topic stuff too.
>>
>>394911
No, I don't think you're a shitposter.

I was unaware that the "sports bar culture" of /sp/ had been stifled. If that is the case, then I say "Boo to you, Mods!" and thank you for politely correcting me.

Come on moot shitposting 'JEEEWWWS' as a comeback. I expected better.

I simply have empathy for my fellow man and behind the zionist campaign are real world effects, people being killed or lives ruined.

Behind the 'stromfront' campaigns is nothing but neckbeards that have zero to none real world effect.

Here are some achievements of your zionist friends that you allow to organised shitpost on 4chan, real world impacts.

* Israel is the country with the highest number of protective US Security council vetoes... 100 + times
* Israel has killed more innocent civilians per capita than any other country... 50,000 +
* Israel has imprisoned more civilians per capita than any other country... 250,000 +
* Israel has rendered more innocent civilians handicapped per capita than any other country... 50 thousand+
* Israel has injured more innocent civilians per capita than any other country... 200,000 +
* Israel has only two countries to defend its policies in the United Nations. These countries are America & Micronesia. The population for Micronesia as of June 2008 is only 108,000
* Israel is the only country on Earth that denies the right of return of refugees
* Israel is the only country on Earth that publicly, steals the water of its neighbors
* Israel is the only country on Earth that has legalized home demolishing as a method of collective punishment
* Israel is the only country on Earth that uproots trees as a method of collective punishment

You should be happy you have a easy life, not butthurt. Remember that real people who are completely innocent suffer at the hands of your zioinist friends but it is ok that it is just a joke to you.

I'd say the universal rise in anti-semitism generally is because of the internet and the free information therein, though Spain's place is probably also down to it being particularly badly hit by the recession.

You'll see in this article that the anti-semitism there has little to do with the left/right dichotomy.

>>397087
>The number of people I have shitting on me and screaming "FUCK U MUT U JEW KIKE!!!!" at every turn far outnumbers "dick suckers."
Not really. I've never seen an online community like 4chan where the community so overwhelmingly liked the creator. That's the only part I don't like about you, the victimhood. You have an awesome website that you can easily monetize and you have every right to do that, but you keep worrying about "morals" for some reason. Morals or your reputation, not sure which.
>>
>>397088
I have to admit that there is a little bit of worship.

It's sort of like meeting a Senator or something. You might disagree with the policies or the politics or dislike the man himself, but there's always a bit of "awe" in the face of the Office itself. So, you smile politely and shake his hand and try to behave in his presence.

It's normal behavior, really. It does help that moot's a pretty cool chap, but he's also that kid who brought us all together - for better or worse - and for that alone we owe him deference at least.

Israel unilaterally disengaged from Gaza, removing all of its troops. Immediately following that, Ariel Sharon dissolved the Knesset and had a massive stroke from which he's still comatose.

Spain was deeply vested in stamping down Palestinians, but didn't want to get their hands dirty. When Israel pulled out of Gaza, Spain went on a massive anti-Jewish rampage.

No, from that piece

>Pew, in a politically correct sleight-of-hand, says the blame lies with "those who place themselves near the right end of the political spectrum." But most professional observers of contemporary Spanish politics lay the blame squarely with Socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, who took office in 2004, and since then has managed to drive Spanish-Israeli relations to their worst point since bilateral diplomatic ties were established in 1986.

>Zapatero, who makes no secret of his postmodern dislike of Zionism, is well known in Spain for his anti-Israel and anti-Jewish outbursts. At a dinner party in the Moncloa Palace (the Spanish White House) in 2005, for example, Zapatero addressed his guests by launching into a tirade of anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist rhetoric that ended with the phrase: "It is understandable that someone might justify the Holocaust."

>Zapatero has also sought to restore Spain's traditionally strong ties with the Arab world by ingratiating himself with Israel's enemies. During the 2006 Lebanon War, for example, Zapatero participated in an anti-Israel rally where he wrapped himself in a Palestinian kaffiyeh (scarf) and gratuitously accused Israel of using "abusive force that does not protect innocent human beings." Zapatero then dispatched his foreign minister to Syria, a move the Israeli foreign ministry said proved that the Spanish government was "closer to Hezbollah terrorists than to the Israeli government."

When a new board is added, he gives birth to a new child-apostle out of his magical modcunt, and when a board is deleted he kills a baby and shoots it into space. What happens when a board is repurposed?

Those were the days.

hey moot, where do international politics threads belong?

i made a thread about it here >>396220 →

i've gone on /pol/ asking about non-americans politics/national issues/etc....and no one responds (i think because not many foreigners post there)

however i have gone on /int/ and had MANY threads that talk about these things and they have had very interesting and constructive discussions, the thing is that the moderators or janitors delete them sometimes

we had a thread on vanguardism/communism in your country get to 150+ posts a couple days ago, and a thread asking people what their ideology was and their country which got to over 200+ posts i think

it seems the only place to me where we can discuss this is on /int/, but the threads keep getting deleted....i went on IRC about it and the guy in charge said the pertinent people to talk too about this (/int/ moderators? i dont know who he was talking about) never are on IRC

tl;dr please respond

It's not that it's not against the rules, people spam that cuckshit in threads they don't like and to troll. Making rules against it wont make a bit of difference.

Also, Moot, ever consider disabling the captcha on just one board for just a few days so people can see how bad the spam problem is when it's not kept in check? I've started reporting people who bitch about the captcha, because if you bitch about it, you are either a newfag who wasn't here when the spam happened, or a fucking troll. If that were true there wouldn't be a separate rule for troll/shitposting/spam and anything relating to MLP. If shitposting ponies was the problem it would be covered under shitposting, not a separate "keep that fucking show off my site and get back in your cage" rule.

Hey MOOOOOOOOOT you CUNT.
As far as i remember as per your words, /vg/ was created for games that get massive traffic, in other words games that clog up /v/ to the point of pushing other material out and being a general cancer on the flow and stability of it, like KS at the time and SC2 and MOBA faggots.

2 questions then:

1. When a new game starts getting too much shit and too many threads on /v/, why didn't you order regulation and push that shit to /vg/?
I'm looking at DmC and some time ago Dark Souls for examples.

2. Some mod is deleting Unreal Tournament generals on /v/, that doesn't get much traffic and certainly won't be clogging up /v/, that isn't considered as /vg/ general material but rather still /v/ (till IF it gets out of control).

Enlighten me.

I don't know if you've noticed, Moot, but /q/ is a failure of a board. Not a single good idea has come out of this board. It's where shitposters and minorities come to try to change shit about boards they have no knowledge of or incite shitposting on boards they don't like. What's worse is that you and the mods sometimes listen to these fucking dunces and make shit worse. Several boards have experienced a sever decline in posting quality, some being so shit-filled that it's pretty much unusable, since the creation of this swirling pool of shit. My question is, when will you put an end to /q/? I'm tired of coming to /q/ everyday doing fucking damage control, trying to keep my board usable. Please, Moot. Tell me, when will /q/ end?

Hey moot, I just anted to ask whether it is possible that, if you try to access a deleted thread, that it briefly tells you who deleted the thread (Janitor, Mod, OP) and if it's a janitor or mod why it was deleted?

I am pretty sure there are some users that make a thread, delete it later, and giggle to themselves knowing that people will blame staff members. Other than that, I think it's always good to know WHY a thread got deleted.

That aside, what do you think of "preemptive deletion"? That is, threads that are not violating a board rule, but get deleted out of fear that they will only generate shitposts, despite said thread not having reached that level yet?

If you say "I'm going to do an /a/ Q&A at this time" and follow up on it, it'd be really nice to have board-specific issues discussed more in-depth.

Though I admittedly only really actively post on /v/ and /vg/, I lurk other boards with some regularity, and I think addressing the state of each board would be nice.
>>
>>397627
>it's been the center of many controversies.

I don't think that really adds much monetary value to it. People invest in sites for profit and from Moot says there barely isn't any. So I doubt there's a large dollar sign on it.
>>
>>397627
It is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. If moot wanted to sell it and nobody offered more than $10, then guess what it's worth? $10.

There's no pricing catalog for domain names.
>>
>>397619

Okay. I made about $10,000 last fiscal year from self-employment sources of income, about $4,000 from non-self-employment sources, and I have $4,000 in the bank right now. My taxes are going to be fun, seeing as how I'm both a poorfag and a selfemployedfag. No, I'm not giving more details.

>>397629
The danger would be that people who don't visit that board chirp in. If it's an announced Q&A that is.
>>
do you prefere the metric system or the shit the usa uses?
>>
>>397634
You think that would be good enough if moot said it? No no ... people will demand bank statements and shit.

Private information should be kept private.

I don't share my finances with anyone. Only individual clients get to know how much they're charged. In moot's case, his clients are the people who bought a Pass. They know how much they paid and get the service for which they paid. That's all anyone really needs to know.

Personally, I wish moot were a gorillionaire. I'd ask him for a new computer and maybe a nice sandwich.

Of course they log the IP, but 4chan itself is not able to backtrace IPs to the actual person, that's just something publiublic authorities are allowed to.
When you have a pass all of your activities are logged at 4chan itself which allows 4chan to get your identity if you posted enough and if they really want to. Moot will only use it for targeted marketing I guess but meh. I cannot post this open when I know that they could easily get my real whole identity. That destroys the best thing about 4chan imo.
>>
>>397651

>>
>>397661
>They'd have to take his word for it anyway
Well, they don't. At all. For any reason.

Case in point:
moot: "I'm a heterosexual roman catholic of Irish descent."
unwashed masses: JEW!! KIKE!!! HEBE!!! FAG!!! Y U SO JEW FAG!!!

Doesn't matter. If he says he's poor, they tell him he's "playing victim to get more money". If he says he's rich, they say he's "a total Jew out for your goldz".

It's best to just say nothing at all.

Time for some

Real talk:

When it comes down to it, who gives a fuck what moot makes, whether it be millions or just enough to keep 4chan afloat.

The point is he pays for it and we get to post for free.

I may be the only one to have ever had the displeasure of posting on a pay to post forum but it's awful and the mods usually don't give a fuck.

Just be happy you can post for free and stop crying you faggots.

disagree, depends
No cookies are required if he simply logs your sessions (to collect the info for targeting). The ad link gets an identifier that says that the user comes from 4chan. If it's not for ecommerce that is all.
He could also just sell the gathered data and don't use it for targeted marketing himself.

To everyone saying bring {board} back: there's a reason that it is gone.

To everyone saying that Moot is being a cancerous troll right now by saying Jew: He's showing you what is killing his website. I'm guessing Moot thinks of this site as his child. It started off young and cute (ie old /b/). When it turned about 3, it started to get annoying because it now knows how to phrase actual sentences, but it prefers to use mindless babble. Around 6, it was just crying and whining, but was a nice kid otherwise. Nowadays, at 9 years old, it's just a big self centered baby that only knows how to say "look at me i so funnay".

We're not even at the angsty teenage years yet. I'm not even lying when I say I really believe visits will go down around /b/s 13-15th years.

Anyways, Moot, if you read this just know that I'm on your side and I'll be fighting cancer right on with you (but only through just methods).

quality posting is what makes, (see made) 4chan great.
ironic shitposting is shitposting.

if it were up to me, I'd implement methods to stop the shitposters wherever they are, the problem is that we all know that banning em won't work and damn well everything else is nearly counter productive.
>>
>>397887
No. I'm saying that we're all Moot's kids. He wants us to get along, but there's way too many of us for him to take care of alone. To help him, he brings over his family (janitors). They can calm down most of the kids, but there's a good few of us who like to act out. The more stern family members (mods) take them and put us in a time out (ban).

It's a simple concept, I believe.

Another way to look at /b/ is as if it was a pool. In the beginning, the pool was clean and everything was great. As time progressed, more leaves got into the pool. The problem is that there are trees surrounding the pool, so we're just constantly scooping out leaves to no avail.

There's no real [italics] cure [italics] for 4chan in my eyes. We can only wait for those trees to fall. Perhaps they'll break the pool on the way. Perhaps the trees will fall away and everything will be better. No one knows.

I just have to ask, what boards do you browse?
I'm a psych major, so I actually may delve deeper into this as a little project for myself to do. Maybe I'll learn more about the boards and their personal communities? Who knows?
>>
>>397907
a simple answer would to just prune or plant the trees somewhere else.

since we're taking about /b/ we'll take that into example, a /bi/ board could be made for the traps and other photos/images of cute guys that won't fit on /cm/, along with all the females and all that. removes that shit.

anything representing /soc/, surveys, just for the hell of it porn threads, roll threads, /r/ threads, when X vs X who wins?, rate my cock threads and god forbid "hey /b/ I'm talking to some girl on FB, wat do?" and the entire thread gets ban-hammered. mods don't even look at it.
>>
>>397920
I only browse /status/ and /@/, I'm going to sleep now.
>>
>>397925
Don't get me wrong, I completely concur, but the only way that it will be enforced is with mods/janitors that appreciate OC, and another long bout of chemo. The last batch has since passed and the cancer is back.

Shitposters won't learn to post elsewhere because they think "Oh, /b/ means random, so I'll post it here." They don't think "Oh, I was going to post this on /b/ as a shitposter, but I've since rethought my thread idea and realized it would be better suited on /[board]/."

If you have any ideas to help that, please tell me.

Snacks? No. Fuck Snacks. We need to just grow the fuck up.

The way most 4channers (/b/tards specifically) look at the state of the site right now, is in a way that the Shang dynasty in ancient China looked at the dead. They looked at the past and glorified it. Every person who had died meant more to them than those who were alive. Even their leaders. 4chan looks at the past like it was the only way that it can be, so they try to make it so. The only problem is, while oldfags are using Eastern culture, newfags and midfags are using western culture, so they're trying to make new things. Oldfags fight the news and mids and vice versa. It's a never ending battle until we get rid of the terms "oldfag", "newfag", and perhaps a few others that I'm blanking on.

I'm sure once irrelevant threads on irrelevant boards get relentlessly pruned for several weeks that the shit posting will stop and the shitposters will go elsewhere/grow a brain.

and I'm pretty sure the shitposters hear about the "big bad /b/" and flock there thinking the place is the shit, then get caught up with whatever garbage they get into then post shit that hasn't been posted half a zillion times before in the past week.

I remember seeing a "animals stuck in odd places" thread a couple days ago, and it was the first time I had fun on /b/ for several months. if the board is random, then the threads need to be random. not the same re-posted shit over and over.

it's said a lot, but we need snacks or an equivalent.

>>397945
I'm sure that underneath the whole debate, what's really wanted is OC.
>>
I've had fun on /b/ tons of times recently. /b/ isn't nearly dead. There are hundreds of threads available at a time and legitimately 80% of those boards are absolute shit. But there are still threads on /b/ worth archiving and the like. Everyone probably remembers Elsie from a few weeks ago, or maybe the collab of /a/ and /b/ to find all of the Jaguar comics a few months back, or when /x/ and /b/ collabed on a thread about "The King has Come, The Queen layeth down."

There's still good shit out there, but you miss it about 90% of the time because people don't try and find the great stuff, they settle for good.

4chan wouldn't die, even if it got killed.

>why make boards like these if you can't get rid of them?
It's called containment. And for the most part it works
>>
>>398135

>If yes, why make boards like these if you can't get rid of them?

Why would there ever be a need to get rid of them?
>>
>>395009
>I've seen /g/ gives the same advice.
That's because /g/ isn't a computer repair board either.
>>
>>394121
Because both countries are filling to the brim with islamics who are the jews natural enemy. Simple as that moot.

moot, you seem far more irritated and aggro about the shitposting than your usual cool-breeze demeanor.

I feel like you need some wub. But since you won't be my waifu and therefore I can offer no comfort, here's a motivational gif for ya.

>moot's fw to all the haters and trolls

cant people in the USA run non profits, and give them self's as much money as they want? without taxes and shit. i just remember talking to some guy and him saying that he used non profits as a loop hole. i think that's why people want to know how much money moot makes. and the fact that he wont disclose this info makes him much like the CEO's of wallmart or Mc Donald's. and we would like to think more of you then that. "if you have nothing to hide then why not?" you may thing this sounds hypocritical cuz of how some of us demand privetsy. but maybe people in some form of power should be held up to some higher morale standard. with that in mind the "if you have nothing to hide" argument has a good point. why not? who gives a fuck. you've hitinted that you dont make a lot so why to put up the proof.
>>
>moot getting flaringly buttmad over jewspam but never over any of the other forms of vitriolic hate on 4chan

gj moot, really playing into their hands with that one.
>>
Sometimes I wonder what online communities would be like if 4chan never existed.
>>
This thread has been derailed all to an AMA thread. This is why 4chan is great.

>inb4:
">This is why 4chan is great
Are you retarded? This is the exact opposite-blabla"

If you knew how to be cool, you'd say something like this.

>because he's the hero /pol/ needs, but not the one it deserves right now.
I like the change.
>>
>>398460
Forums, less/different memes, social networking and web 2.0 would have still come about in the same/similar way, less "social hactivism" due to no Chanology, KS would have never happened, moot would still be banned from SA.

Seems like a mixed bag.
>>
Funny really how so many people call Moot a jew while they'll come back 'Every Single Day' on 4chan
>>
>>398175
And /fi/ wouldn't be a finance advices board either.
Your point?
>>
>>394342
Nope what /pol/ does is they blame everything o n jew's. Hardly history or facts.
>>
>>397548
You should make more polls. Remember /f/aptcha?
>>
don't worry, moot! /pol/ loves you :-)!
>>
>>397087
If you were 15 when 4chan was founded, then you should be banned for 3 years for those years in which you were an underage fag
>>
>>398703
Fuck off

I mean you claim to like how 4chan WAS but now you're changing it into THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT IT WAS

what the fuck happened to you, did you get replaced by a fucking pod person or something

your "favorite board on 4chan" is a fucking forum with permanent IDs

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills
