Moot deleted /new/ several years ago with a very good reason - it because a breeding ground for stormtards and nazis. He then later created /pol/ never intending it to become the new /new/ but unfortunately his worst assumptions came true - /pol/ became a place not only for jew hating but also for other primitive display of racism, misogyny, and sexual intolerance of the greatest magnitude much greater than /new/ ever was a place where people that were banned from stormfront, edgy teen nazis and other all hating shitposting neckbeards that make 4chan a worse place every single day, rendering it "containment" purpose a total failure since the boards residents "internet-warrior conquer all" mentality. So why does /pol/ still exist? Pic related the current state of /pol/ which shows it's complete deterioration.

Sorry for bad english.

No, he deleted it because it was a news board that became an unmoderated political board. Then he added an unmoderated politics board, and he's quite content with it. In fact, looking at his recent music-and-title change, he finds it quite amusing.
>>
>>397311 (OP)
>He then later created /pol/ never intending it to become the new /new/

But that's wrong. When moot first created /pol/, he specifically welcomed former /new/smen in the sticky. The board is also called "Politically Incorrect" as a nod to it being full of offensive things. moot has also made many comments since the board's creation in support, or at least in defense of the boards continued existence as is.
>>
What do you know, more people bitching about /pol/

/pol/ isn't a problem in itself. /pol/ bullshit spilling out into the other boards is.

FUCKING THANK YOU

I make threads about it spilling onto /v/ and /tv/ here and I get shut down by /pol/ calling me JIDF

Hey moot, when's the music getting taken off /mlp/? I'm getting quite annoyed with it. Also if the show gets shit are you going to take the board down?
>>
>>397512
It's not /pol/s fault that the other boards are begging to take the red pill.
>>
>>397565
Red pill and JIDF should fight, preferably somewhere far away from 4chan.
>>
>>397311 (OP)
If you delete /pol/ for anti-Semitism, you have to delete /b/ for racism and homophobia.

However there is an alternative, it's called gayrobot.
>>
>>397574
>gayrobot

What is this? I keep seeing it everywhere. At first I thought it was a wordfilter for red .dit, but when I try to post that word, I just get told my post is spam.
>>
>>397574
I agree. I don't see how anti-semitism qualifies as a special class of bigotry, considerably more evil and pernicious than all the others.
>>
>>397584
I was also wondering about this; assumed it refers to >>>/r9k/.
>>
>>397559
I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually like the show, and he created the board in an attempt to keep their shit off of /b/.
>>
>>397512
>/pol/ bullshit

Maybe the problem is that /pol/ is correct, and everyone else's bullshit is just starting to dissipate? Like boiling salt water, leaving behind the previously invisible residue of salt, or in this case, the truth?
>>
>>397601
>everyone else's bullshit
Who's? The other boards of 4chan?
>>
>>397591
I think it's r_______ actually. Insult became to common.
>>
>>397601
Irrelevant. Even if the dominant /pol/ rhetoric is 100% true, when I'm browsing /v/, I want to talk about videogames, not the Jewish conspiracy to wipe out the white race.
>>
>>397512
Thank fuck you're at least aware of /pol/ leaking. This "redpilling" craze that seemed to have popped up recently is a fucking blight on other boards. I see this shit all the time on /a/ and /v/
>>
>>397616
But what if they are referencing how a video game fits into that conspiracy? /pol/ doesn't come on here and complain when someone relates video games to politics.

Think of it like a Venn diagram. Where there is overlap, it should be allowed on both boards.
>>
>>397616
This holy shit. Please do something to keep /pol/ in /pol/
I post there myself but I don't like seeing it in /a/ -not that it lasts long there, or /vg/ or /v/
>>
>>397628
The difficulty is as soon as moot acknowledges that /pol/-leaking is a problem, the dudes who are trying to get the board deleted are gonna start spamming and then post screencaps here like they did a few weeks ago (in addition to whatever retards get out of the /pol/ containment facility to spread the Truth). I say we just make "red pill" and "anti-semitism" filtered words.
>>
>>397628
Maybe every board should be granted an extra thread space, at the very top, and it can be a sticky redpill thread. Then everyone wins.
>>
>>397565
Fuck off. It's completely /pol/s fault for being crossboard shitposters. I don't care whether you're right or wrong. The point is I go to /v/ to talk about vidya and I go to /a/ to talk about animu I don't go to them to preached to by you faggots about the evils of Jews and race mixing. If I wanted to, I'd go to fucking /pol/ Either keep your shit to your own board (yes, you are a CONTAINMENT board) or do your redpill shit somewhere else.
>>
>>397655

>>
>>397655
Oh poor you, it must be so sad seeing those threads and how they hurt your feelings.

Still, there is no grounds for action to be taken yet.
>>

You do realise that largely isn't /pol/'s doing right? surely you've noticed some... shenanigans against /pol/ by offsite interests?
>>

maybe the answer is a bi annual cleansing of /pol/

just keep switching it between /pol/ and something else of the like. but give one month in between the taking down of /pol/ and the rebuilding of its replacement. Time for that herpes flare up to go down.
give them time to become so large they start spilling into other boards....then kill it with fire.

repeat ever six months.
>>
>>397750
Is it possible for you to actually reply to my posts without diverting the subject to unrelated rubbish?
I'm still waiting
>>
>>397705
It's not /pol/ posting those threads.

It's someone with an interest in destroying /pol/
>>
>>397777
a conspiracy is a foot?
>>
>>397777
Where's your evidence then? I see these idiots all the time and they have the same mannerisms and posting habits as /pol/tards.

But if there really is some secret third party trying to destroy /pol/'s credibility (dohoho) and making these threads, then do tell.
>>
>>397761
My main point still stands, there is no grounds for action to be taken, so a few stray posters from /pol/ may have posted some random things on your board, that's all on them, they should be punished not the board.
>>
>>397796
I'm not advocating the destruction of /pol/
I'm just pointing out that /pol/ has failed as a containment board. /mlp/ eventually worked and ponyfags for the most part have been successfully corralled into their own board. /pol/ is a different matter.
>>
>>397796
Yeah, I agree with you. I don't think /pol/ should be deleted. I just think that there should be public bannings for /pol/ shit outside /pol/
>>
>>397809
thats because pony fags are beta numbnuts with no gumption

nazi conspiracy nuts on the other hand are full of hatred and ballsack.

you cannot use the behavior of one as the model for the other.
>>
>Moot deleted /new/ several years ago with a very good reason - it because a breeding ground for stormtards and nazis

He deleted it because it ceased to be a news board.

>He then later created /pol/ never intending it to become the new /new/ but unfortunately his worst assumptions came true
False.
>/pol/ became a place not only for jew hating but also for other primitive display of racism, misogyny, and sexual intolerance of the greatest magnitude much greater than /new/ ever was a place where people that were banned from stormfront, edgy teen nazis

That's all fine on a board called 'politically incorrect'.
>>
>>397814

Well, goy... fellow user, I suggest shitposting with large quantities of cuckold porn.
>>
>>398125
Isn't that what /pol/ is?
>>
Not completely relevant but waking up from my nap and seeing porn is now banned on /pol/ is the greatest thing ever so thank you based moot

The reason /pol/ is "spreading" in my view is because believe it or not, people outside /pol/ talk about politics on their boards occasionally, or things peripherally related. Then it only takes one /pol/ user to make a politically incorrect comment (often times clearly intended as a joke) which sets someone who hasn't been redpilled off, then that gets responded to, it blows up and the thread gets derailed. I frequent /mu/ and I see it happen a lot. /mu/ is especially vulnerable because its base is so solidly liberal.

tl;dr, the problem isn't that /pol/ is spreading; politics has always been discussed on other boards. it's because now more cross-board users have opinions that dissent from the majority of a given board's culture, which causes more arguments and derailed threads.
>>
Personally I was posting material that gets me called "from /pol/" long before /pol/ existed.

It's not raiding. It's not shitposting. It's just speaking the truth.

>>397512

>>
>>397512
That's sort of the problem with "containment" boards, isn't it? You're creating a place for undesirables to congregate, on this website. It's to be expected that some of them will post on more than one board. If your object is to remove their influence entirely, it might be better to remove the welcome mat, and delete the "containment" board. Obviously this won't solve the problem entirely, but I think it'll have a higher success rate than your current solution.

That's not to say I think you should delete /pol/. I think that the the hands off moderation policy has allowed certain elements within the group of people that post there to fester and spread, and this has caused to board to stagnate. I think more/better moderation is a better solution to this than outright deletion. Keeping these elements in check on /pol/ will do much for keeping them in check on the website as a whole, imo.

Just some thoughts moot, and I realize you're short-handed atm so some of these ideas might not be feasible.

Regardless, thanks for what you do.
>>
>>398613

i agree that the whole containment board idea is flawed.

take racism, which is universally disliked by most people. once you say it is fine on /b/, it becomes impossible to keep it off the other boards.

Actually it allows you to identify friend and foe on instinct so you can immediately tell that the group of whites walking down the street won't harm you but the group of blacks is something you should be wary of. To deny that you should see the blacks as foes is to deny that they instinctively see you as a foe when we are all human.
