***IMPORTANT NEWS POST REGARDING 4CHAN PASSES***

Hate CAPTCHA and ever wanted to donate to/support 4chan? Here's your chance.

Is there anything that can be done about this mod? He openly stickied this tripfags thread on the basis of them being friend and claims we're 'douchebags' for not liking him. It's ridiculous.

Never been to /co/ and that screencap ensures I never will.
>>
ANONYMOUS IS LEEJUN
>>
Wat.

I mean literally, what.

I have see mod drama before, but this... This is completely off the charts.

Just what the fuck, not even Snacks was this retarded.
>>
It's a thread about people meeting up at Comic-con, why shouldn't it be stickied? If it was made by "Anonymous" then you wouldn't have a problem with it.

And they aren't "friends", you know we have an IRC channel?
>>

>aren't friends

he talks about meeting him irl. a mod is openly endorsing a tripfag and you don't see a problem?
>>
>>231201
>a mod is openly endorsing a tripfag and you don't see a problem?

No. Why should I? Redwood isn't a shitposter or a spammer. Why should I give a shit? I'm not some "NONAMOUS IS LEEJUN XDDD" /b/tard kiddie, so I don't care.
>>
>>231205
He is a shitposter, though.
>>
>>231206
In what way? I hardly ever see him post.
>>
>>231208
I'm not in anyone's side but...

archive.foolz.us/co/statistics/post_count/

Seems like he posts a lot.
>>
>>231108 (OP)

And I thought /co/ was already shit

holy fuck
>>
>>231211
I post a lot too. Does that make me a shitposter? I'm reading through the archive and the closest thing I see to "shitposting" is that he posts in the HSGs.

I don't see what people are complaining about. This is very obvious /b/tard behavior and nothing else.

>>231212
Why is this bad?
>>
>>231211
Nice ID by the way

This is >>231213

>>
The fact that the mod actually stickies this meetup/soc faggotry is what's surprising. Actually nevermind, it's a tumblr/feminist shithole, not surprised at all.
>>
>>231231
But It's totally cool when moot announces a meet up, right?
>>
>>231234
No it's not. All meetups should be discouraged.
>>
"Mooooot! That tripfag is shitposting on the basiss he is a tripfag! Nevermind I just derailed a thread in order to go on a shitstorm because I saw a trip! Baaaaaw!"

/co/ has a lot of shitty trips. Redwood is not one of them. Worst he's done is ask requests on the drawfag threads, which, surprise surprise, are about asking requests.
>>
>>231238
why? it's a good way to meet fellow chanbros
>>
>>231240
>Redwood is not one of them

he's a notorious shitposter with a defense force of mods and faggots like you
>>
>>231241
Beats the point of anonymity. But right, what do you fags know, you are here defending an attentionwhore.
>>
>>231242
I've still seen no evidence that Redwood is a shitposter

>>231243
So you are from /b/
>>
>>231242
Uh-huh. I've yet to see (inb4 "but you've only been here the summer, anon!") Redwood, Boco, etc shitpost. Normally, the shitposting around them tends to be by anons derailing threads to reply "no-one likes you tripfag". I dunno man, go to the archives and show me some examples of his shitposting, and I'll shut up.

And even if he IS a shitposter- it was a thread about a 4chan meetup on NYCC. Who started it should be irrelevant.

>>231243
"Tripping and meetups beat the point of 4chan! Despite being part of 4chan from the beginning!"
>>
You mean you want to get rid of the biased mod that makes troll threads and spams pictures of his favorite show?

The same one that deletes threads and posts he personally doesnt like while leave shit threads around?
>>
>>231244
/b/tards are the majority of the people who go to the meetups. /v/ is more "anon is legion" than /b/ at all.

The meetups are fine if moot condones them, it's his damn site. Email him about them, if the mod is acting out of turn, he'll do shit about it. I doubt it's enough for moot to chime in on, because it's dumb.
>>
>>231244
You are telling me that I am from /b/ when you are the one who is supporting people treating 4chan as a facebook? Hilarious.

You don't even understand the point of a trip. Go back to your meetup threads you /soc/ faggot.
>>
>>231245
I never said that trips beat the point of 4chan you fucking retard.
>>
>>231244
>n
you forgot to remove part of your name there tripfaggot
>>
>>231251
the guy defending Redwood is either a mod in disguise or a trip. typical
>>
>>231250
Yeah sorry about that fellow Anon, I just treated you as the same Anon who was whining about attentionwhoring trips.

Irregardless of that, why should you care about people meeting up? It's a fucking stupid idea and any self-respecting person should know best than going on "oh hey I'm from 4cahn, you're from 4chan too! Let's be friends!", but if they DO want to do it, it's nothing new and their choice. Leave them be.
>>
>>231249
You're the one who should leave if you care whether someone wants a trip. If they're being on topic, why does it matter?

And don't spout the reasons trips are a legitimate part of the website. I know them.
>>
>>231253
>>231251
You're retarded. That's the subject line, and my phone auto fills it with "noko" for some reason.

I'm done, /b/tards are impossible to talk to
>>
>>231258
nice try, redwood. run back and jerk off your mod friend
>>
>>231256
I don't really care if he doesn't use a trip or not, he is an attention whore, it's simple as that.
>If they're being on topic, why does it matter?

Oh modcat, look at what's happening. Please come back and educate these faggots because the leader of this website doesn't care and wants this place to become facebook and the users are advocating that why does it matter if someone uses a signature, avatar, name.
>>
>>231262
Modcat used a trip
>>
>>231262
See, I understand banning sigs and avatars. But trips? Why the fuck would you complain about trips? WHY THE FUCK DOES THE OPTION EVEN EXIST IF IT'S SO BAD? It's what confuses me the most of people that throw a shitfit at a mention of trips.
>>
>>231266
>WHY THE FUCK DOES THE OPTION EVEN EXIST
Because Moot made this site for himself and his friends.
>>
>>231264
You misunderstand. I am not saying that a trip shouldn't be used. But how it's used.
modcat used trip for special purposes.

Most tripfags use a trip as if they are posting anonymously such as posting reaction images or generic green text responses which is why I hate most tripfags. They can use it all they want, but they should accept that they are attentionwhores.
>>
Anyone who's been on /tv/ knows trips are awful. All the do is form cliques and talk in IRC while sharing CP.

ALL tripfags are attention whores by nature. And ultimately being a trip is counter productive to almost all forms of discussion. Because you take the focus off the subject and onto whom is saying what.
>>
>>231271
I disagree. A trip can be useful but currently as it's used right now, yeah, it's shitty.
>>
>>231273
>A trip can be useful
An ID is even more useful.
>>

You all just mad jelly of redwoods sexy black bod

but in all seriousness the amount of attention/hate and dicksucking you give this nigga is sickening. I honestly don't know what it is about him that gets /co/ so buttflustered or loving. Yes mod is quite a gigantic faggot but before then redwood doesn't deserve any notoriety or praise. He's just that guy in all the Korra threads
>>
>>231266
>Why the fuck would you complain about trips?

Because of shit exactly like this.
>>231108 (OP)

Mods cannot show favoritism towards anons because they're anonymous.

>WHY THE FUCK DOES THE OPTION EVEN EXIST IF IT'S SO BAD?

You already know the answer to that; stop feigning ignorance. The legitimate uses of tripcodes have been discussed dozens and dozens of time. Attention-whoring and trying to build "forum cred" are not among them.
>>
>>231201
>>231201
>>231201

mod confirmed for invisibro. sadly this is the future of 4chan, it's all about hanging out with the bros and social networking
>>
>>231201
How is this any different to any other 4chan meetups? This has been happening for years.
>>
>>231275
I am saying helpful in a sense that your posting history helps back up your posts for a particular subject.

For example, your working on creating a videogame and you use a trip on /v/. You use that trip for coding related threads and answering questions about your game. However, when you encounter a thread about some funny shit that is not related to what coding or the game you are working on, you can post in it without your trip because how does your knowledge of coding and being a dev exactly affect that post?
>>
I stickied a thread before that, which WASN'T by a trip user, because the user asked me to. I had no idea who he was. Let's call this the "getting organized for the meetup" thread.

It got too long and hard to find the meetup info. Redwood put together more concise info about it for the OP post, I removed the old sticky, and stickied the new one.

There is no favoritism going on here - just helping out the boards users who want to meet up for a major comic convention. I couldn't care less if you're a trip user or not.

Furthermore, if we didn't want people to use trips, we'd remove the option. Stop bitching about stuff just because someone uses it.
>>
>>231292
>no favoritism
>he's so awesome and you guys are lucky to have him

so, you're a horrible mod and have selective memory, eh?
>>
>>231296

That's not favoritism. It's stating that I like him and giving my opinion of him as a site user. Nothing wrong with liking someone.

Favoritism would be me banning anyone who doesn't like him, and I don't give a shit if you like him or hate him.

As I said, I'd sticky a thread I deem worthy of being stickied for any user - trip or no trip - and have done so, and will continue to do so.
>>
>>231300

Could it be...that mods are human beings who have personal lives and need to eat, sleep, and provide basic needs for themselves? Could it be that mods need to work, and not stay on the site all day long, banning people? Could it be that mods have opinions of people, and just because he stickies a thread, and mentions someone by name, he's not doing anything wrong?

Nah.
>>
Jeeze this is the kind of bullshit /co/ has to deal with? I feel kind of sorry for you guys.
>>
>>231306
Could it be that a mod should keep his faggot life away from his duties as a mod?
The only reason we need mods is because computers haven't learned to read yet. Nobody gives a FLYING FUCK about his opinions on anything. If any dickbag can get his worthless thread stickied just by asking nicely, then fuck that mod.
>>
>>231311
>Nobody gives a FLYING FUCK about his opinions on anything
then why are you getting mad about him expressing them?
>>
>>231309
No we have to deal with /a/ and /v/ shitposting not comics and cartoons and crying about /co/. This is just a simple comic-con sticky that no one even noticed unless they were going to NYCC. Since I am a SDCC goer I didn't even bother to open the thread. It wasn't until tonight with a bunch of tripfag troll threads (which I also saw on /tv/) did this shit blew up. Meanwhile our realworlds and Hellblazer threads are being ignored because its comics and/or cartoons.
>>
>>231311
New York Comic-Con is huge, why not have a sticky? Oh wait it's comic related.
>>
>>231316
It's more of a case of "nobody cares about your opinions, why do you keep telling us about your opinions?"
>>
>>231300
>making totally reasonable statements to angry anti-trips on /q/
It'll never work.
>>
>>231336
This. /q/ is where reason goes to die and the phoenix of anger rises up in its ashes.

It really doesn't matter what you tell OP, he's going to feel like he's not being treated fairly and that there's a secret unspoken spoils system among mods and tripcode users.
>>
>>231300
>Nothing wrong with liking someone.

there is when you ``like'' a confirmed shitposter, tripfag or not
>>
>>231319
If it's that huge, why HAVE a sticky? People will discuss it either way and you're making a short-time general where discussing anything becomes hell
>>
>>231292
>>231300

Jesus Christ what universe did I jump into

>>

Offtopic and cancer.
>>
>>231371
Times have changed.
>>
>>231371
I'm sure that people organizing something to have fun IRL are cancerous.

>>
>>231374

>what is Otakon?

Ya'll super-new or something?
>>
>>231427
Of course they are. Anyone who isn't new doesn't care about trips. Anyone who isn't new especially doesn't give a shit if people are meeting up outside 4chan for events like Comic-con or Otakon.

People make up a fabled "old 4chan" where trips didn't exist and anonymous was legion, but that never existed to begin with.

I apologize, I should have written a more detailed and clearer post. I meant the idea of what and what isn't cancer. Somethings are different now, but I didn't expect something like a Comic-con sticky to garner so much hate. Especially since it's normal.
>>
>>231468

Ah - I thought you were saying that 4chan meetups were a new phenomenon, when they're almost as old as the site itself. Thanks for the clarification.

4chan is about having a place to discuss interests with the OPTION of anonymity. There's nothing preventing anyone from making their own identities known - by posting them or by meeting people in person.
>>
>tripfriend

even mods forcing this meme
>>
>>231477
Damn, you gave me a quick lock in that thread.

I'll admit I didn't even consider the last point you made. They'd already have to have the IPs of the users in question, which they would have to get from somewhere other than 4chan, but it's still a worry, I guess. That said -- don't give them ideas.
>>
>>231108 (OP)
>/co/ here

>>
>>231490
Er, tripfag is a pretty widely used term. I use it, and I don't even have a particular dislike of trip users.
>>
>>231494
You're right. I suppose it comes down to the context of when it's used. Kind of like nigger and faggot

4chan back then was pretty, well, fagy compared to what it is today. Fagy but nice.
How did everyone get so serious?
>>
The fact of the matter is, and no one can contest this, that the mod is letting his like for someone get in the way of their objectivity.

Really, I have doubts about Redwood's ability to be part of the board's "community" when he clearly has a guardian angel watching over him.
>>
>>231934
who gives a shit?

moot himself could give me an OFFICIAL 4CHAN SEAL OF APPROVAL and it wouldn't prevent me from discussing the shit i usually do

well, maybe i couldn't shitpost anymore because it would reflect badly on him, but i never did that anyway
>>
>>231934
Why does it matter? Why do you care SO MUCH about this? Why do you think that just because a mod likes a poster that they're just going to follow them around now and somehow treat them well?

I don't even understand how this "favoritism" is supposed to affect anything at all.
>>
>>231449

This doesn't apply to the poster at hand, but it is hilarious seeing a number of people coming in here and trying to act like they've been on 4chan forever, when it's clear they're pretty new.

We didn't lose our shit over tripfags, stickies (well, we had OMG POSTIN IN A STICKY but that's different than being visibly upset over one), etc. I kinda miss those days. Ya'll need to chill the fuck out and stop taking 4chan so damn seriously.
>>
>>231949
>>231935
