Pardon me, but could moderators please provide more specific ban reasons? I honestly have no idea what got me banned.
maybe if you stopped shitposting so much, you wouldn't be so confused as to why you're banned.
They don't have to spend any more time dealing with you than they want to.Also this >>154090
cool id dood
>>154090How am I supposed to know what post was "shitposting"? None of my posts were anything out of the ordinary for 4chan. If anything, they were more polite and more to-the-point than most.
We've been asking for ages for moderators to quote the post the user was banned for in their messages. It would be simple as fuck to implement automatically, but nobody listens to /q/ anymore it seems.
>>154102Go on IRC and ask why you were banned
>>154082Absolutely yes! Thank you. I thought I was the only one.
They need to provide all of the following:-Post(s) that got you banned-Reason for ban-In the case of a denied appeal, a reason must be providedBut moot does not have the manpower to implement this and mods would never agree to it because they couldn't get away with as much shit as they can now. All in all, we're fucked.
>>154156>But moot does not have the manpower to implement thisThat's wrong. Quoting the post that got you banned requires ZERO additional manpower. It is trivial to automate; he just needs to write a few lines of code.
>>154159Moot is not a programmer and he doesn't accept donations. It is safe to assume 4chan runs on charity work and several individuals involved in its maintenance just come and go.
>>154163There is at least one developer who regularly posts here.
>>154163There is at least one developer who regularly posts on /q/.http://archive.foolz.us/q/search/capcode/dev/order/desc/
>>154167>>154172>>154167Fine, so I will attract their attention with my high quality impersonation of this tripfag, get banned and hopefully they'll read your suggestions. If I am to be the martyr that will pave the way for a cleaner and more efficient 4chan, so be it.
>>154156>>154163>>154174what the fuck? Why are you back? Do you wanna be doxed?
I am against that, and let me tell you why.If mods started giving specific reasons for bans, then you'd get a lot of complaints of people saying stupid shit like "but that wasn't what I was... But technically if you look at it this way...", and in the end nothing would change for the better. If you can't figure out why you've been banned then, quite honestly, you're hopeless. This is 4chan for Christ's sake, you really have to fuck up to get a b& that isn't just illegal content. Also, Global Rule 6.>The quality of posts is extremely important to this community. Contributors are encouraged to provide high-quality images and informative comments. That's a rule and you broke it, end of story.
>>154187Not telling people what they're banned for doesn't reduce complaints, it just makes people speculate about what they were banned for. It makes it easier for people who deserved to be banned to convince others that "mods = fags." Probably 99% of shitstorms against the mods would end up dying in "OP is a fag" if people could see what he was really banned for. Also, if people can't figure out what they did, they tend to ban evade and keep doing it.>This is 4chan for Christ's sake, you really have to fuck up to get a b& that isn't just illegal content. This is false. The reason you have not been banned is because bans are handed out more or less randomly to rulebreakers and you've been lucky, not because the mods are lenient.
>>154239>Probably 99% of shitstorms against the mods would end up dying in "OP is a fag" if people could see what he was really banned for.no, it'd just start up more shitstorms as internet lawyers try to argue that what they were banned for isn't technically against the rules.
>>154187That rule is so very vague. What defines a quality image and post? Who defines it?
>>154475Grammar, quality of your arguments. How informative is your post. Who defines it? Mods, of course. If you do not agree, remember : 4chan is a privilege, not a right. Mods have all of the right to remove your content. And if they are being truly incompetent (the main problems nowadays is that there is not enough mods for 4chan), they will be removed (or at least I want to believe so)
>having the post in the ban messageMoot will never implement this cause god knows how many shitstorms it will cause. Same reason mods don't have any way to be identified so they don't get singled out. Moot just doesn't want to deal with the headaches~. It's to protect teh mods from silly users~
You're really naive. Dont take this the wrong way but things like "This is 4chan for Christ's sake, you really have to fuck up to get a b& that isn't just illegal content." and "If you can't figure out why you've been banned then, quite honestly, you're hopeless" are pretty stupid. >If you can't figure out why you've been banned then, quite honestly, you're hopelessSome people posts 100+ posts per day, they cant keep up all those small messages in their mind. >This is 4chan for Christ's sake, you really have to fuck up to get a b& that isn't just illegal content. Most dont go to /b/, also 4chan isnt /b/. Most controversial bans are from board specific disputes. In boards like /v/, some get banned for criticizing specific games that one or few mods like. Others like /a/ have a mod that bans people who criticizes certain anime that he/she may like. Mods are selfish just like people. Only reason I dont see this happen is because it exposes mod's personal feelings to the community. Which can be met with heavy backlash. Moot doesnt want that happening I think. Think of it like the police force. Police can do what they want given their legitimacy, however when police are accused of wrong doings, police protect other polices. Exposing one police means you're destabilizing the police moral highground.
