This shit is ridiculous. It's just people that come in to a thread that, even if it fits the topic, they feel belongs in another board, so they spam it with links to that board. For example, someone makes...let's say a Planetside 2 thread on /v/. >Post 1Hey, you guys looking forward to Planetside 2?>Post 2>>/vg/>Post 3>>/vg/>Post 4>>/vg/So on and so forth. This shit is worst on /v/, where any thread about a specific game gets spammed with >>/vg/ comments, but this shit happens on other boards too (people linking to >>/wg/ if someone makes a desktop thread in /g/, or if someone makes a thread in /g/ about technology related to video games they are told to go back to /v/, or some shit like that). This shit is getting annoying and is mainly done by idiots who have no idea what the board's topic even includes. There needs to be some mod/admin intervention here because this is getting out of control.
It's your own fault for trying to talk about video games on /v/.
>>117963I provided other examples too.And sarcasm aside, this shit really is getting out of hand and just plain nonconstructive. I mean I'm tired of back-seat moderation on this board as a whole (especially when 90% of the idiots doing it have no idea what the rules even are), but this is the worst back-seat moderation by far.
>>117972This is more of a far-reaching problem not limited to /v/.If you post anything anime or japan-related, even a reaction image, people tell you to go back to /a/.If you post anything tangentially related to politics or countries other than murrka, people tell you to go back to /int/ or /pol/.If you disagree with anyone, people tell you to go back to reddit or gaia or whatever is the internet bogeyman of the month. If this was 2007, they'd be telling you to go back to ebaum's or ytmnd.
And this right here is a fine example of inane bickering about shit that doesn't really matter.
They are only being helpful.
>>117993You want the worst example?Try making a DBZ thread in /a/ and watch what happens. I mean DBZ is /a/ related in every way. It's an anime and a manga and was one of the most influential series in anime. Yet watch what happens when you make a thread on /a/ about it.(Answer: they tell you to take it to /v/).
If there's a general, take it to the general and hope people notice your topic among all the circlejerking going on.
>>118027Stop making such shitty threads. There's "Oh man, I was rewatching DBZ and I STILL can't get over how idiotic the Namek arc is" and there is "I JUST FINISH DBZ YESTERDAY IT WAS SO GOOD! DBZ THREAD?"
>>118045And both threads get spammed with links to /v/.
>>118055No, one gets linked to /v/, and the other either get's dropped off the board, or only gets a few replies.
>>118027http://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/70188570/#70188570Yeah man, they sure hate all that Dragonball stuff over there at /a/
>>117963Oh for fuck's sake. It was bad when everyone hated how off-topic we got, and now it's been fucking internalized despite a god damn sticky. The fuck!?
>>118060Not really a good example when it just proves me right.>It's shit. The Naruto of the 80s and the 90s.>>>/v/>Go to /v/, they love shitty old anime Also you can't say that that was a civil discussion, it got spammed and derailed
>>118070WOW! One shitposter! You are so right!
>>118070What are you talking about? It didn't get derailed at all. You think a board is complete shit because it has a few shitposters? Bad news man, your favorite board has that shit too
>>118064On /v/ right now:>E3 2012 will suck won't it so let's talk about Nintendo vs Sony vs Microsoft haha fucking sonyggers>dat feel when gay sleepovers with bros and playing vidya while jacking each other off>demonoid is down and bitgamer is an ass so let's spam will smith>WHAT ARE YOUR MOST RECENT TORRENTS>let's talk about e-celebs: hot or not?>what are your loadouts in Ocarina of Time? bonus points for getting to 150 posts without having any discussion or replies to anyone at all>CORY IN DA HOUSE GOTYAY>unlockables SO LET'S TALK ABOUT DRM PIRATES ARE EVIL DRM IS EVIL HAHA SWTOR SANK>steam friends thread, first to cybersex with a fat neckbeard wins>man remember ace of spades let's try to get a server up oh whoops that's too hard let's derail this into a reddit-hate thread>cawadoody vs buff3 so srsbsns not trolling at all>dark souls is on steam, why are you a dirty dirty pirate you entitled PC scum haha consoles4lyfe>FILENAME THREAD WITH THE SAME SHIT YOU SAW IN 2005
>>118027You just played Pac Man for the first time and now you try to discuss it in a board where people have been playing games for more than a decade. They already played Pac Man and talked about it for years. They already figured out all the references, figured out the plot holes and understood the messages. They have nothing else to say, and specially to you. You just played Pac Man 1, you haven't played Pac Man 2,3,2 Deluxe, and all the others released over the last few decades. You are not worth their time, discussing with you is not worth their time, you offer nothing of value. Only an old depleted subject and naivety. So instead of letting a thread die slowly and in silence they are nice enough to tell you where to go, go to this board they say. They just discovered Pac Man there, you'll have a chance to experience all the fun you missed there.I know it's a bad analogy but it's more or less what's going on, and offtopic discussion is bad but a little bit of it is one of the things that make 4chan different from a forum and it's a nice touch. And we're talking of /v/ here, they had to make a different board for real videogame discussion, some DBZ will be welcomed here.
>>118087Yeah, and DBZ is not waifus or moeshit so /a/ doesn't want to know about it
>>118095completely ignoring evidence to the contrary, a thread that happened just the other day>>118060>>118060>>118060>>118060>>118060Why do people who criticize /a/ always ignore the mountains of evidence that they are wrong?
>>118102>Mountains of evidence>One thread>Among hundreds that got sagespammedIf you say so man.
>>118095>moeshitReally faggot? Come talk to me when you know what moe really means.
>Toonami returns with two shows>People go to /a/ thinking it is for talking about anime.>DING DONG BANNU>Every thread is deleted>/a/ sends everyone to /vg/>/vg/ spams the shit out of the thread and also deletes>Moronic board "culture" contributes to the slow decline of every other board by forcing legitimate topics onto non-topic related threads.>/co/ and /v/ become the new board for anime discussion>still have the occasional person bitch on /co/ about it (/v/ moved over to /co/ since the threads there turned to bitch fits rather quickly)
>>118157>(/v/ moved over to /co/ since the threads there turned to bitch fits rather quickly)That's /a/'s fault though.
Yknow, I don't understand the horrifyingly selfish demands of the people from outside /a/. They get mad when people won't talk about a certain anime with them, so what they want is for everyone to STOP talking about any anime that isn't DBZ or Cowboy Bebop. They've been to the board once, but they want to completely change it and make people who have been there for years cease all discussion of shows they don't approve of. That's fucking terrible. And it's exhausting being a member of /a/ and hearing it 24/7 on this board. If it were up to /co/ or /v/, I wouldn't be able to talk about ANY anime they didn't like, which is an infinite number seeing as they've all only seen about 10 shows. It's like when I was a kid and my brother made my parents force me to play with him. No one ended up having fun because it was all forced. You can't force people to have fun or like other people or any of that. /co/ and /v/ are like the whiny little brothers of the world
>>118181Not reallyIf it wasn't for Batman: Arkham City and Marvel vs Capcom 3, /v/ would have such a presence on /co/.
>>118211No, I mean, Toonami gets bitched out of /v/ by angry /a/utists that can't have people enjoying what they don't like. It's the same as trying to discuss video game music on /v/, the thread is overran by /mu/ shitters that call everything they don't like plebeian
>>118222>people on /v/ must be from /a/ if they don't want off-topic threads on their boardThis is like America in the 50sANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH ME IS A COMMUNIST AND YOU CAN'T PROVE OTHERWISE
I feel this pain, too.>be on /k/ board>Ask for /k/ related vidya games. Ones with realistic weapons, tactics, content, all perfect for /k/.>Go back to /v/>"Oh yes, because I'm going to go to /v/ and make a thread and say 'Hey /v/, what are some /k/ related games?' You know what they'll fucking say? They'll tell me to go to fucking /k/ and ask /k/ what games /k/ fucking likes."
>>118248that is because on /k/ there are about 500 of the "what are some /k/ related games?" threads. Im sure there are at least 2 right now on the board.
>>118248Why don't you make a thread specifically asking for what you want instead of "/k/ related games"? As someone who doesn't browse /k/, all that means to me is "GIMME GAME DAT GOT GUNS"
>>118287And that's why you don't ask that question on /v/. They don't understand what it means, and it goes deeper than just "LOL CALL OF DUTY HAS GUNS AND CAMO, MUST BE /k/ RELATED! HUEHUAHEUHAEA HURF DURF I'M RETARDED"That's why I ask on /k/. They understand what it actually means and doesn't require me to try teaching 2,000 /v/ users how a fucking gun works and explaining why CoD isn't realistic. You just proved my reasoning.
>>118274This is what all the threads on /q/ boil down to.Outsiders to a board that do no understand the way things work arguing with people who do browse the boards all the time. The outsiders speak with limited experience because they do not know better, their suggestions are foolish, their premises are wrong but it's easy to complain when they only had one bad experience, it's easy to say there are no threads I like here because they miss those threads.4chan is not a forum, threads are not up all the time, if you miss the threads you like then you have to be here all the time too.
>>118304Why not ask for /k/ approved instead?
>>118337Because we do. All the time. And are asked to go to /v/. And on /v/ and I'd have to make 4 posts of greentext in a row to describe to them what /k/ approved/related means.Do you not see the problem?
>>118346Are there any games with proper firearms discipline? Because gun safety should always come first in /k/.Sights, ballistics etc are secondary.
what do /k/ think about ARMA 2 anyway?
>>118385Safety? Alas, no. There are no games like that I'm aware of.>>118399/k/, on the whole, got really sick of DayZ once it became a twitch shooter (KILL EVERYTHING THAT MOVES) and not a survival game. Arma II in the standard config, though, is one of the only approved FPS games besides STALKER.
>>118082You forgot:>EA GENERAL, EA AND SHITPOSTING WHILE THEY POST HERE UNDERCOVER.
Desktop threads aren't Technology, they belong on /wg/.
