It was a secret board moot created for a mod that was metalhead friend of his. One day someone discovered it and people started flooding the board posting at a rate of like one post every ten minutes which was a zerg rush for 4chan back then (very different times).

Anyway people (including myself) all thought that it was a board where people had to post "5" related images. This was not the case and the board solely existed to stroke said mods ego and we were all permabanned from /5/.

The now old meme about /5/ being a board so awesome that it will make you want to punch your sister and rape your dad (or however the fuck it went) is BS.

If moot really wanted to bring back an innovative unique board he should consider bring back /z/. Even to this day Soviet Russia has a (sometimes) amazing /z/ board.
