It's actually pretty good. But it really depends on how it's implemented. If you just do a short lecture by jail deputies with a short talk with inmates, it won't go so well.

But if you give them direct experience of how jail looks and feels like, with active inmate interaction and experience that will make them care.

Scaring children does not help them. It just teaches them to react, it keeps them confused, and it doesn't actually help them intelligently grow.

They should sit kids down and show them the brutal truth, but explain it and have the kid talk about it too to make sure they get it.
