Why is this entire article focused on the sins of the white man? Cyrus the Great, the Mongols, Saladin, Ashoka of India, the ancient multicultural city of Alexandria, all excellent examples of leaders and cultures with "progressive" ideas that weren't corrupted by evil white men.

Since the authors only chose to use examples with evil white men in them, I can only conclude that the purpose of this article is to propagandize against white imperialism. Which is fine, I guess, white people have done some fucked up s**t, but it still reads like propaganda.

It deeply saddens me that these are called progressive achievements.
The exclusion of blacks from society was a progressive ideal. It was the progressives, not the conservatives, who stereotyped them as inherently inferior and advocated for their removal. Wilson was a fucking KKK member and the Democrats introduced segregation for Christ's sake.
It's an incredibly dishonest sleight of hand to call these societal features "non-progressive" when the original progressives were extremely sexist, racist, homophobic and authoritarian.
