Nope. Double jeopardy. Look it up.
>>
>>17297734
So what do they want to result from the protests?
>>

New TVs,
>>
>>17297734
double jeopardy is when the accused has gone to jail for a crime he did not commit, and cannot be jailed again for the same crime.

for example if i get thrown in jail for killing my brother, do my time, get out, and find out my brother is alive... I can go kill my brother without consequences.

this isn't double jeopardy
>>
>>17297805
Double jeopardy.
>>
>>17297805
GZ to be arrested. They're too stupid to realize he can't be, though. They're making fools out of themselves.
>>
>>17297805

"obama gon fix it, he gon remove the fifth amendment"
>>
>>17297805
What they want and how the legal system works are two different things. The people protesting are those who don't understand how things work.
>>
>>17297672 (OP)
this is the calm before the storm. they are waiting for the police barricades to go down and for them to return to normal so they can riot.
>>
>>17297805
it's just a mindless chimpout
>>
>>17297805
more food stamps

The protests were the reason he was arrested in the first place. Police found no reasonable cause for arrest, let him go. Justice4traytray happened, florida governor pressured Sanford pd to arrest Zim. They fired the guy in charge who refused to arrest him without probable cause and then arrested him.
>>
>>17297805
I'd imagine they think if they can persuade enough of the public things will "change".

Not going to happen
>>
>>17297805

I don't think they expect anything to happen as a result. Basically, it's all just a temper tantrum.
>>
>>17297874
>"obama gon fix it, he gon remove the fifth amendment"
Yesterday one of the protesters said word for word "Obama where you at"
OP wherever you are from you must not understand negros, they are scum
>>
>>17297862
That's the movie, not the legal concept, you fucking retard.

>Fifth Amendment (Amendment V)
>No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb
He can't be charged with the same crime twice, hence why OJ was able to basically admit he killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman without being hauled off to jail and tried for murder.
>>
>>17297862
completely wrong. it depends what your were charged with.
if your original charge was muder 1 (crime of passion or a fit of anger) you cant be re-tried on murder 1.

if you serve your time, find out your brother is still alive, then plot to murder him, they will try you a second time for murder 2 (planned, spiteful or malicious murder)
>>
>>17297734

Try again. While unable to be charged with 2nd degree murder or manslaughter, there's still prosecution trying for first degree murder (which is all about showing intent, into which real emotional shit comes into play,) or capital murder. Those options are still quite on the table.
>>
>>17297805
Attention.

It'll die down over the next week then everyone will forget about him.
>>
>>17297906
>The protests were the reason he was arrested in the first place.
this is what worries me, if they nig hard enough he actually might be arrested again
>>
>>17297862
>this isn't double jeopardy

Idiot, I'm saying that he can't be charged with murdering Trayvon again because he was found to be not guilty. So yeah, if the prosecution wanted to take the case to court a second time, they wouldn't be able to because that would be double jeopardy.
>>
>>17298063
yes. feelings trump legal proceedings. its scary
>>
>>17298037

lol no.
>>
>>17297672 (OP)
Yes they do.
Take rodney king for example. The 3 police were found not guilty but due to the backlash they tried them for denying civil rights and they went to jail.
>>
>>17298083
he can be charged federally though correct?
that is what al Sharpniga was calling for, charged with a "hate crime" any chance of that?
>>
>>17298121

I'm terrified we don't live in a society that convicts and imprisons people based on feels.

A court of public opinion is cancer.

Can you guys explain to me why this case differs from the Rodney King case, where the police officers that were acquitted still had to have another trial?
>>
>>17298083
you dont fucking get it, retard

there's more than 1 type of murder. you cant be re-tried for the same type of murder for the same person. so they will pick a different murder charge (murder 1 instead of murder 2) and re-try him.
>>
>>17298176

That was because they abused their power as public servants.
>>
>>17298235
Niggers nigged
