Its a fucked up result, but if her husband has been beating her, she probably should have left him quite awhile ago. It doesnt make any sense to claim stand your ground, when you are shooting at a person you live with, who you have no proof of being harmed by (at least not when you shot at him)

He had a restraining order on her. He had custody of the children. She broke into his home while he was at work to have sex with a boyfriend. He comes home, she runs to get her gun from the car while he's calling 911 to report a breakin, the operator hears her scream "here's what's coming for you!" while she shoots in his direction (narrowly missing one of the children's heads).

Her firing the warning shots is, in a sense, justified, if she was attempting to defend herself from an abusive spouse, poised to attacker her. But, only in that sense. The act of doing so is extremely reckless, and dangerous to those around her. If she did it for the purpose of intimidation, she overdid it. Holding a gun is intimidating enough to someone.

It'll be great to watch the comparisons between this case and Zimmerman, and how race will be incorporated into it.
