It didn't help that after the song I accidentally shot my pistol at the wall and everyone in the bar came rushing down and I was forced to murder them all. Anyways if the boy was hungry why didn't he just grab the orange himself in the hours before or after I arrived?

That scene just felt plain awkward at that point in the game. My favorite part of the game was after you rescue elizabeth and walk around battleship bay. The game needed more relaxed moments like that where bonding like that would've made more sense.
