Yes it did happen, but just not nearly at scope that we were told and not in the way we were told. The most generous number of Jews killed during WWII is around 650,000 with the majority of them dying through disease and towards the end of the war starvation. There were no actual death camps with mass gassing and burning, the only cremations done were to destroy bodies from spreading whatever they died from among the camp.

Also it's pretty much accepted fact that the entire creation and support of Israel is based on the holocaust and that any associated with Judaism is at risk of it occurring again. That's the reason no one can just come out and say that it was an exaggerated event.

Also this thread is just going to draw extremists on both sides so I'm not sure why you'd bother to create it other than to feed the trolls.

During WII The United States, and Germany set up concentration camps for the Japanese in America, and the Jews, and other groups of people in Germany. These camps were to hold people suspected to be trying to overthrow the Government.

The allied carpet bombing helped spread typhus across Europe, and destroyed German supply lines, because of this tens of thousands of people died in the German camps. In German camps were underground room called "Leichenkeller" where the bodies were stored until the bodies could be cremated. Many people died in the camps, but not because of mass gassings, but because of disease, and starvation.

Those underground Leichenkeller are labeled as gas chambers according to most sources in the American media, but from the original German blue prints for sites like Auschwitz they reveal the true purpose of the camps, and the ovens. There would be no purpose to build gas chambers underground, only to have the bodies be brought back above ground to burn them. They were kept underground to keep them cool, and there was a small room for ovens for those dieing while staying in the camp.
