    Let's get this started.

Who's winning? And, if you're an Iowan, who are you voting for?
    >> Anonymous 01/02/12(Mon)21:17 No.932502
Rick Santorum is gonna win. He will pull off enough support from Bachmann, Gingrich, and Perry to get the victory.
    >> Anonymous 01/02/12(Mon)21:18 No.932521
Romney or Paul. I would be voting for Santorum

Obama... like most of the state will in November
    >> Anonymous 01/02/12(Mon)21:19 No.932544
Rick Santorum, he has the most solid support and the fastest growing support.

Mitt Romney has new Hampshire in the bag.

(Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney appears set to win the nation's first 2012 primary vote in New Hampshire next week by a wide margin, according to two surveys released on Monday.

Romney, the former governor of neighboring Massachusetts who has a vacation estate in New Hampshire, has 43 percent support among likely primary voters in a 7 News/Suffolk University daily tracking poll, and 41 percent in a survey by the polling firm Magellan Strategies.

He has a double-digit lead over his nearest rival Texas congressman Ron Paul, who polled at 21 percent in the Magellan Strategies survey and 17 percent in the 7 News/Suffolk University survey.

Its seems that IN Iowa the one candidate that pique the most interest in terms of google search is Ron Paul by a fucking landslide.

    http://www.google.com/trends?q=Ron+paul%2C+Mitt+Romney%2C+Rick+Santorum%2C+Newt+Gingrich&ctab=0&
    amp;geo=us&geor=usa.ia&date=ytd&sort=0

He really seem to harness a fucking lot more attention than all of the other candidates and more consistently.

Also Rick Santorum didn't surge until the publication of the CNN poll last week. I mean nothing before that would have suggested that he gained the Iowans attention.

Play with google trends. He is really popular in Iowans cities.

But since the media announce the winners, heck I wouldn't be surprised if they announce a winners that goes against the trends. Something clearly fucking miraculous because if I had this data and I was an Investor I would invest in Ron Paul because it really seems to be selling well. But this is politics, so popularity index aren't worth a shit if the results are announced by an agency that has a bias against popular candidates.

However, Mr. Paul gave up a considerable amount of ground to former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, who garnered 18 percent of the votes to finish in third place. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who won an Insider Advantage poll Monday, grabbed second place with 19 percent of the votes.

You stupid fucking aspies know Mike Huckabee won the Iowa Caucus in 2008, right?

This is just so fucking sad and hilarious. Ron Paul doesn't have a chance. The elite won't let him.

If you kids think they can be overthrown, you are fucking retarded.

Grow up and accept the reality. You have two corporately owned scumbags, just representing different cultures. Obama or Romney. Accept your place in this system.

Do you see what is happening, its all a fucking lie.

They need the magical Rick Santorum last minute surge to make Paul lose to Romney. I seriously believe that a Ron Paul voter ain't no last minute turncoat. They can't let Romney gain more than what he constantly pulled on polls. They can't lower too much what Paul pulled. So they need a 3rd candidate to transfer just enough of the winning margin of Paul to make Romney win by a slight margin. This is some fucking mainstream media election theft bullshit. If you Iowans don't watch the vote and don't show the internet and world what truly happens tomorrow, the media will broadcast a lie to the entire world.

    >Karen Santorum wrote a book about the experience: Letters to Gabriel: The True Story of Gabriel Michael Santorum.[125] In it, she writes that the couple brought the deceased infant home from the hospital and presented the dead child to their living children as "your brother Gabriel" and slept with the body overnight before returning it to the hospital.

TRENDING: Ron Paul: Santorum is 'very liberal'

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/02/ron-paul-santorum-is-very-liberal/

    >(CNN) - Ron Paul dinged rival Rick Santorum Monday for being a "very liberal" candidate, saying the former Pennsylvania senator and staunch social conservative voted for too much spending during his time in Congress.

    >Speaking to CNN Senior Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash before a campaign event with his son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, the White House hopeful said his rival had taken positions counter to true conservative ideas.

    >"I mean, have you looked at his record? Go look at his record," Paul said.

    >He continued: "He spends too much money. He wasn't leading the charge to slash the budgets and vote against big government."

I don't understand the hatred for him and it reeks of retarded left bullshit. Obama was a joke. Once he got in office and got read in as to all the covert ops and secret programs the government is all up in he STUCK WITH THE FUCKING PLAN. GW laid out this century to the best of his office's ability considering 9/11. Obama has followed GWB's foreign policy, specifically on hard power, vigorously. There's a reason for that. Recently I spent too much money this holiday season, I went out to eat, the movies a couple times, decided to treat myself. After I paid my bills I realized I would be broke until my next paycheck. Living paycheck to paycheck because I decided to live above my means.

That is how America is today. We are living way above our means. We are spending beyond what we can afford to pay off. When will we pay off this debt? 10% of our budget goes to JUST PAYING INTEREST on the debt we have accrued. That last major bubble? It was a housing bubble due to people not being able to pay their loans. I am sure there were many cases linked to people living above their means.

Like the hosing bubble, America will one day cross that threshold, and with the world market looking increasingly shaky, with the prospect of a new conflict with Iran growing, it seems almost inevitable.

But we can change that. We can change that tomorrow, and the next months ahead.

    Fellow Ausfailian here.

    >What the fuck is a caucus?

It's where supporters of a political party or something else of the like all get together and decide what to do. Though the meanings can vary across America.

    >What happens if Ron wins?

    To us as Non-Americans?
There's less American interest getting pushed on the rest of the world, people who know bugger all will tell you that means China will invade and the Nazis will return and Cthulhu will arise from the sea.

As for Americans they'll have less of their rights being taken off them, though on the downside that means you'll see more of them on the internet.

    >Why are the media and companies ron paul is fighting for in terms of economic freedom (deregulation and all that jazz) against him?

The Saudi Royal Family is the second largest shareholder in Newscorp.

    Newscorp owns Fox news.

Saudis are not comfortable with Ron Paul saying that Americans are more entitled to their money than Saudis.

He's getting his cake and eating it too. He stuffs his bills with pork then votes against them, knowing they'll pass. He pleases both the people who love federal spending and "small-government conservatives" and gets elected again only to get the 150,000 dollar paycheck and a government paid healthcare plan. That's why he's been a 10 term congressman that "advocates term limits".

It's hard to believe there are still Obama supporters on 4chan. The place of anonymity and freedom on the internet.

Obama has murdered American citizens without trial. Anyone who supports him is making themselves personally responsible for the murders he carries out in their name. Romney, Gingrich, and the other Republican sleezeballs are no different.

Don't like Ron Paul? Write in Dennis Kucinich. Vote John Huntsman. Whatever. But Ron Paul actually has a chance. I'm going to vote for Paul in November if he wins. I don't want to see government burned to the ground like Paul does, but I think Paul would do more good in his first day than Obama has done in 4 years (Obama has done no good and lots of evil, actually). Obama will never pardon Bradley Manning and apologize to Wikileaks. Obama will never pardon non-violent drug offenders. Ron Paul will. Everything Paul will have the power to do as president, he is superior to Obama on. Stop being tools who vote for president based on things the president doesn't even control. If Dems want the liberal vote, they should start choosing liberal presidents who don't murder and pillage across the globe, who restore our rights and doesn't give money to plutocrats.

The fact of the matter is he's the only candidate with an ACTUAL conservative record. He can lead both in the business and in state. Not to mention he can play a mean organ. Basically the system is broken so the answer is to keep it going. Why is it the Republicans in the House don't rally together to MAKE Obama use the money to pay off the deficit? It's easy to say the system is broken. It's another thing to actually accomplish something, which Paul is also foreign to.

Six Republican presidential candidates are preparing for the first official test of the US election season in the rural state of Iowa.

The hopefuls toured Iowa on Monday, the last full day of campaigning before the Hawkeye State's caucuses.

Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum lead the polls ahead of Tuesday's vote, but the race remains unpredictable.

Tuesday evening's caucuses will involve about 120,000 Iowans gathering in homes, schools and public buildings.

Iowa's ballot is the first contest to pick the Republican who will challenge Barack Obama for the White House.

Spread across some 1,700 meetings in all of Iowa's 99 counties, the meetings see Iowans elect 28 delegates to the Republican National Convention, to be held in Florida in August.

Santorum Haunted by Support of Pro-abortion Specter

    http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/Santorum-Haunted-Pro-abortion-Specter/2011/12/31/id/422684

Rick Santorum's endorsement of Arlen Specter, a strong supporter of abortion who gave President Barack Obama the key Senate vote to pass Obamacare, is becoming a key issue as the Iowa caucuses near.

Polls show that Santorum is seeing a last-minute surge in Iowa, but pro-lifers and pro-Christian groups are seeing red.

According to press reports, critics of Santorum have been handing out fliers and putting them on cars outside of Santorum events claiming that the former Pennsylvania senator is a "Pro-Life Fraud." The organization publishing the fliers identifies itself as "Iowans for Life."

A devout Catholic, Santorum has been a consistent advocate for pro-life issues, but he backed pro-abortion candidates in key political moves that could have benefited his own career.

The pro-life flier notes that Santorum has "a long and storied history of campaigning for radical pro-abortion candidates,” mentioning Santorum's strong endorsement for former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and former fellow Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter.

Santorum seems most haunted by his 2004 decision to back the pro-abortion Specter in a Republican primary. Specter won narrowly, defeating his pro-life opponent Pat Toomey, and Santorum's support of Specter was cited as a key help to the liberal Specter.

    Here are some fun facts:

You won't get tax cuts because taxes pay the interest on loans given to the government by the Fed, and as long as you are in debt the government cannot reduce taxes.

The Fed is not responsible to the government and previous attempts by Politicians to improve Fed transparency have failed. (Incidentally, Ron Paul was the last guy to try)

Voting on the basis of tax cuts is a wasted vote because regardless of which candidate you choose there literally can be no significant change to taxes, and the banking families will not allow any changes to the way the Fed operates (ie in total secrecy).

Everyone in the US, Republicans especially, are brainwashed so well they aren't even aware of these facts.

I kept getting calls for Paul. They said the polls don't include democrats/independents. They sounded pretty confident that Paul would win the caucuses.

I would vote, but holy fuck sitting in a room with a bunch of oldfucks and raising my hand like we're in middle school sounds retarded. I'll save my shit for real voting.

    >implying there isn't New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida that would really determine early on who has the best shot at being the nominee.

The only thing that will come out of this Iowa caucus is that in the next debate, they may ask Ron Paul more questions since he would be a "frontrunner". Also, another thing that may come out of this, is that people like Michele Bachmann or Rick Perry may finally admit defeat and drop out. Although they may say they still have a chance and stick in til South Carolina votes are cast.

My idiot friends have been telling me for weeks that Paul can't possible take Iowa in a million years. So if he wins I get to make them eat their words.

Not to mention, the minute Paul wins Iowa he gets a definite "chance of winning" which is important to most voters. For some reason my countrymen hate voting for a loser, or someone they think won't win. That's why the MSM has been chipping away at the credibility of the Iowan caucus after decades of salivating over it; they want to have a fallback reason why Paul "has no chance of winning" just in case he does win Iowa.

Like I said before, Americans hate voting for someone with "no chance of winning". That's why 3rd parties never get big here.

But if he wins Iowa, then suddenly all the pansy voters with no spine see him as an option. I have a feeling a good portion of Romney's supporters are people like this, and will split if Paul wins Iowa.

I've come here from December 1, 2012 to tell you that Paul is now the president-elect. What's worse, though, is that 4chan no longer exists. moot felt he needed to shut it down because the shitstorm following the announcement of Paul's win was so intense that it crashed the website multiple times. Threads about him were spammed on every board for days. Two of the mods quit because they couldn't manage it. It was chaotic. At first, moot decided to filter "Ron Paul" but it backfired and made the spam even worse. Finally, just a couple of days ago, moot declared he had sold the 4chan.org domain for $100,000 and was retiring from administrating this website. The new owner turned out to be the ponychan administrator who then redirected the domain to her site. All was lost. So I hope you Paulbots are happy. You're going to destroy the internet.

    just a reminder for everyone
last time, the iowa caucus had chosen Huckabee with 34, Romney 25, McCain 13, and Paul 10.

New Hampshire chose McCain at 37, Romney at 31, Huckabee at 11, Paul at 8

Nationwide, the total popular vote was McCain at almost 10 million, Romney at 4.7 million, Huckabee at 4.3 million, and Paul at 1.2 million.

Even with the recent surge of Paul supporters, he's really shaping up to be the Huckabee of this race.

Especially with Mitt having a 25 point lead over him in New Hampshire, which is very unlikely to change by march, and a 13 point lead over Paul Nationwide (not to mention Newt)
    >> Ron Paul - states vs. individual rights Anonymous 01/03/12(Tue)03:05 No.936943
         File1325577951.jpg-(59 KB, 335x500, Ron-Paul-Iowa-Poll.jpg)

So we all know Ron Paul is a strong supporter of states' rights and believes, as the Constitution says, that all powers not specifically endowed to the federal government are left to the states. This states' rights view, which is Paul's core philosophy, suggests that there are very few restrictions on the laws that states can impose on their residents.

Ron Paul thus seems to be in support of essentially any laws and mandates done at the state level (despite vehemently opposing the same laws at the federal level), such as individual health care mandates done at the state level (like Romney imposed in MA), strong illegal drug laws/strong imprisonment laws for minor drug offenses done at the state level, having high state taxes, or requiring a state ID card to stop illegal immigration in a state or state voter ID cards (which make it harder for college students to vote).

It thus appears to me that Ron Paul is not really a libertarian (a supporter of the rights and freedoms of individuals) but much more of a states' rightist (a supporter of the rights and freedoms of the states). Although Paul wants the federal government out of virtually all areas of peoples' lives, he appears to be perfectly ok with having state governments run peoples' lives. Although laws can be more easily changed at the state level than at the federal level, a clear benefit of the states' rights philosophy, states can just as easily infringe on peoples' rights as the federal government can. States can often be just as corrupt and inefficient.

So, are those of you supporting Ron Paul generally states' rightists rather than libertarians? After following Paul for awhile, he appears to me to be a states' rightist and not a libertarian, since he is ok with states imposing laws that libertarians would generally oppose. Do those of you supporting Dr. Paul support the rights of your states to impose laws restricting your individual liberties, since the Constitution permits states to do this?
    >> Anonymous 01/03/12(Tue)03:06 No.936950
I seriously think that if Paul can win this state then it's going to make other candidates push to more libertarian leanings.

His voting record does not reflect this. He truly believes that states that encroach on people's liberties will fail (and they will) but at least they won't take the whole country down with it.

I think this is an intrinsically libertarian position as it gives the public more flexibility over where they live and how they're governed.

as a libertarian, he removes the power from the federal first, and then simply allows for the population of a state to decide how much power to give it's state government. If you don't like it, you can easily move to another state. If everyone who didn't want marijuana to be illegal all moved to one state, under a libertarian presidency, that state would be free (and likely) to pass pro-marijuana legislation.

However, as I don't believe in libertarianism, I won't vote for him.

That, and he's an angry, bitter old man that lashes out at everyone.

I hope Ron Paul gets it soley because of his age which makes him the most likely to shit himself on television which I have been hoping to see for a long time.
I *think* Reagan did, I remember watching him a few times where it definately looked like there was a mudslide in progress. But people respected the office back then and wouldnt have said anything anyways.
But the Republicans dont even like Ron Paul, they'll point that shit out and that will be hilarious.

Although its not a sure thing like it would have been with Dole. I had high hopes for that guy.

Bush Sr sorta surprised me with the puking, I had kind of hopes the cameras and lighting were just unkind to him and sort've brushed off his dying chicken appearance as a result of living with Barbara.

If not Ron paul then Perry, he would also shit himself guaranteed, probably more the once.
And he'd be creepy about it.
And then there's Bachmen who cant, Newt who'd easily hide it and Santorum who'd probably do it on purpose.

Romney doesnt count as he'd just pay somebody else to shit their pants for him or pay all of us to not talk about it.

There's nothing stopping you except in a few states that force you to vote for the nominee of the primary in the general election if you vote in the primary/caucus.

Funnily enough, the fact that you don't have to have been registered as a Republican for very long is what is giving Ron Paul a shot in this caucus. Without disenchanted Democrats and independents he wouldn't have a chance in hell at winning Iowa.

Well the argument that we can't protect our borders if we pull away from Foreign nations is simply preposterous...

This isn't the 1800's guys, we have these fancy new devices called satellites which will see any motherfuckers coming before they get within a thousand miles of the Country.

We have jets flying around our borders ready to scramble with high tech scanners for finding any aerial or marine vehicles not to mention tons of drones in our domestic skies.

The idea that we failed to catch the terrorists on 9/11 is equally ridiculous, it was proven time and time again that we COULD have stopped all the jetliners easily had there not been several incompetent mistakes made.

The main issue was the bureaucracy, which we have now quadrupled thanks to homeland and other agencies, this will only compound the problem.

The reason the jetliners managed to make it to the towers and pentagon even though they were all in the air for over an hour each and there was three air force bases within ten miles is because they all had these different training missions with different clearances and there were so many different agencies that we didn't find out it wasn't a training mission into we were already screwed.

If we chop down all the agencies and just let the military patrol the skies and borders, and keep that military at maximum strength by having all our troops protecting the homeland instead of freaking Germany and Australia, then we'll never have a 9/11 again and 9/11 would never have even happened had we done that in the first place....

The idea that we need MORE agencies and MORE bases is simply such ass backwards logic that I can't believe it's even acceptable by anybody but the biggest morons anymore.

I'd hate it if foreign nations established military bases here. We should encourage them to work on their own path in life instead of changing dictators that we put in charge in the first place. Just the fact that all the stars aligned for something like the phrase Santorum Surge to even exist is bad enough but you fuckers just have to keep harping on it and making me giggle like a 5th grader at the word testicles.

The Santorum is spreading all over Iowa. Santorum has exploded into all of our living rooms. Jesus fuck.

He shouts "liberty" and makes people cheer, but if you look at his actual policies - he wants to bring all the troops home, he was against the civil rights act, he sides with the terrorists on things like the patriot act. ROMNEY: Look, I was pro-choice. I am pro-life. You can go back to YouTube and look at what I said in 1994. I never said I was pro-choice, but my position was effectively pro-choice. I changed my position. And I get tired of people that are holier-than-thou because they’ve been pro-life longer than I have. But I’m proud of the fact.

I wish there was a rumor that Romney was gay or something, like Larry Craig. So they'd have to keep denying it.
