>Could
you explain to me, then, why poverty rate was declining faster before
the Great Society programs and stagnated afterwards?
>Could
you explain to me why there was an intricate network of mutual aid
programs throughout America, where people would organize into fraternal
associations to demand discounts and provide for the poorest members?
>Could
you explain to me why poor people often got medical care for free
because it bolstered a physicians reputation, and why the poor actually
entered hospitals at a higher rate than the rich?
>A

>A
free society, on the other hand, is one where people look after each
other and don't shrug that responsibility onto others.
You
mean back when poor people were routinely starving to death in poor
houses, when there was a strong nuclear family for most people, and
before the population was 7 billion with money being an all pervasive
necessity of life, in a system ruled by the capitalist elites, made rich
by the labor of the working class who's wages remained stagnant and
even declined long before any form of government intervention? |
