I'm not a swede or scandinavian, but i won't do that. I would rather look for other options - just not to ask for help, especially if i can resolve this by myself.
Once i was having something like a stoke and terrible weakness afterwards, it happened while taking a tram btw, i've thought i was going to die (literally, it was that bad). Barely managed not to pass out, good thing there were empty seats, otherwise i would have collapsed on the floor.
But even then i haven't asked for help.
Just do not like it, for me it is simple too embarrassing to ask strangers for help.

I don't think it's weird at all. I'm sorry for the rest of you, who have somehow tricked yourself into thinking that a nigger or arab shouting at the top of their lungs is an acceptable person to have to sit next to for the rest of the ride. Talking on the phone is discouraged if you're in a bus so noisy that you have to shout to the person, because it's unpleasant for others to listen to. It's fairly simple, really. It's about mutual respect, something not valued in many societies.
Then again, it's disspearing from ours, too, so that in a few generations, it'll all seem normal.
