The
occupy LA participants need to dress up. En masse. They need to dressup
in marine uniforms with fake head wounds. They need to dress up like
old women. They need to dress up like homeless pregnant teenagers.
They
need to dress up like Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham
Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. They need to dress up like Jesus H.
Christ.
You're gonna be pretty hard pressed to find a cop willing
to mace, or taze, or beanbag, or billy club, Jesus H. Christ.
Especially if the press is nearby. And even if you do find a cop brave
... or stupid ... enough to do that, you'll NEVER find a mayor or
governor willing to authorize it.
That's the kind of photo that
would be iconic. Were lending out $7 trillion in secret loans to banks
while 3.6 million homes are in foreclosure and twice as many citizens
are jobless and on food stamps.
A riot cop beating Jesus H Christ
with a baton in front of a Chase Bank is exactly the kind of photo we
need to articulate that injustice. And mayors can't afford for this
movement to become credible, or articulate.
So occupiers need to dress up if they want to avoid a beat down or an eviction. |
