Rape is essential, intrinsic to our society. I am not talking about street-rape, I am talking about courting, dating, marriage, honor killings, and so on.

It's on the reading list. For perspective of my opposition to this idea that "all consent is still rape" (which almost diminishes the power of the word 'rape' itself) - my father was falsely accused of rape and it sent my family into a tail spin for a while. The power given to userous little girls who glob onto ideas like "i'm being raped all the time even when i consent" is a dangerous notion. in fact, most of the men i know who have been accused of rape have had scars not so dissimilar to an actual rape victim: powerlessness, pity/suspicion, shame..
