The problem with Islam is that even a moderate Muslim is extreme compared to modern values.
According the book that can not be questioned, it is OK to kill unbelievers, gays,treat women like half persons, marry and have sex with children etc. Not muchworse than the old Testament, but at least we have moved on as a society since then, Humanity has moved on while Islam is left behind, blaming everybody else for its own shortcomings.

you cannot expect Islam to be as tolerant as certain other religions. When Christianity was at the same stage Islam is at now they were torturing heretics and burning witches. The problem is never a religion solely, it's poverty. When people have nothing they grasp onto the only thing they do have all the more fervor. In developed thriving countries people tend to have more to occupy their time than jihads and fatwas.

Oh my, where to even begin?

The majority of western Christians have integrated their beliefs with modern culture successfully but this is something Islam seems to have a hard time doing. Muslims will come from their third world countries to settle in places like the UK but are unwilling to conform to whats socially acceptable there. Some having resided in countries years and not even making an effort to learn the language.

If people are allowed the privilege to settle in a country that offers so much opportunity and benefits they must choose to adopt the new culture and embrace it.
