Occupy is not about not having work, it's not about not being able to afford school, and it's certainly not about police brutality.
It's about the corruption of our Democracy. It's about the integrity of our nation!
Corporations are NOT people, and they will NOT be a part of our political system in the years to come.
We are fighting the good fight--why have you not joined us?

However, corporations are made up of people. Without the people there would be no corporations, just like without the people there would be no nation.

The US is not a democracy or has it ever been one.

    This is backwards
    >Without the people there would be no corporations, just like without the people there would be no nation.

This does not imply that without the corporations there would be no nation. It does not imply that without the corporations there would be no people.

Without the corporations, our government would actually represent the citizens--not the corporations.
The fact of the matter is that as long as corporations can fund politicians, corporations will run politics.
Money needs to be removed from politics. It is the root of political evil.

I believe that politicians should be forced to take a vow of poverty during their stay in office. It may sound crazy, but just think of the benefits.

Corporations are legal persons, though. If you don't like it, what are going to do? Overturn generations of legal precedent? Corporate personhood didn't begin with Citizens United. You should know this.

OP's pic...well, if you want to be technical, Founding Fathers wore crushed velvet and linen and most of them would be considered to be part of the 1% now.

    >This is backwards
It is analogous so there's no difference which way you address it.

    >This does not imply that without the corporations there would be no nation.
There was no claim of such, only that the two are analogous if you limit your thinking about "people".

    >The fact of the matter is that as long as corporations can fund politicians, corporations will run politics.
NOT if the people use their power, their inherent power, their constitutional power to make the government accountable to them. Corporations do not have a vote and yet a PERSON, who can make contributions just the same as any corporation, does have a vote and the right to vote.

    >Money needs to be removed from politics.
You might as well request blood be removed from the body.

People are the root of all evil. If there wasn't money involved politics, it would be something else.

    >Constitution and the Declaration of Independence aren't the infrastructure of freedom
They aren't. The Constitution was partly founded on the compromise of slavery and the Declaration is merely a propaganda piece the revolutionaries used to justify their rebellious activities against the crown.

Which is to say, it makes them look like idiots because they all talk about overturning Citizens United seemingly as a means to end Corporate Personhood. When in fact overturning Citizens United would simply allow corporations (for and non profit) and unions to air campaign ads (or communications that mentioned a candidate) 30 days before a primary or 60 days before a general election.
