I've lived in Korea a while. The average chick might be better looking than the average western chick only because there are a lot less fat chicks, but there's also no such thing as a 10/10 Korean. Even 8 or 9/10.

The proximity of extreme modernity and the 3rd world can be jarring: they'll be ultra-modern sky-scrappers with open sewers running beside them. Storefronts are mostly very clean and nice, but there's trash EVERYWHERE because you have to pay to get it taken away, so there are no public trash cans, so people litter everywhere. Garbage piles up in the trendiest neighbourhoods. You also have crippled elderly people scavenging for recycling and selling home-grown produce to survive everywhere, while their kids generation all drive new 20ft cars and live in beautiful condos.

tl;dr: it's basically blade runner. If you think it's a giant nice North America suburb or old European town you're nuts.

One of the big problems SK has is the lack of an old age pension system, so old people live in squalor. However, this may work in the nation's favor because unlike other developed countries, they're not being crushed by unsustainable SS/medical costs.
