Atheists are usually naturalists who base their view on science. Science adjusts its beliefs based on observation.

The cosmological argument argues that there was a "first cause", or "prime mover" who is identified as God. It starts with a claim about the world, like its containing entities or motion.
The teleological argument argues that the universe's order and complexity are best explained by reference to a creator God. It starts with a rather more complicated claim about the world, i.e. that it exhibits order and design. This argument has two versions: One based on the analogy of design and designer, the other arguing that goals can only occur in minds.
The hypothesis of Intelligent design proposes that certain features of the universe and of living things are the product of an intelligent cause.[17] Its proponents are mainly Christians[18].
The ontological argument is based on arguments about a "being greater than which cannot be conceived". It starts simply with a concept of God.[19] Avicenna,[20][21] St. Anselm of Canterbury and Alvin Plantinga formulated this argument to show that if it is logically possible for God (a necessary being) to exist, then God exists.[19]
Arguments that a non-physical quality observed in the universe is of fundamental importance and not an epiphenomenon, such as Morality (Argument from morality), Beauty (Argument from beauty), Love (Argument from love), or religious experience (Argument from religious experience), are arguments for theism as against materialism.
The anthropic argument suggests that basic facts, such as humanity's existence, are best explained by the existence of God.

Qualia-based arguments: Some philosophers see the existence of Qualia (or the hard problem of consciousness) as strong arguments against materialism and therefore for the existence of material and immaterial entities.
The transcendental argument suggests that logic, science, ethics, and other serious matters do not make sense in the absence of God, and that atheistic arguments must ultimately refute themselves if pressed with rigorous consistency.
The argument from degree, a version of the transcendental argument posited by Aquinas, states that there must exist a being which possesses all properties to the maximum possible degree in order for such properties to be coherent.
The will to believe doctrine was pragmatist philosopher William James' attempt to prove God by showing that the adoption of theism as a hypothesis "works" in a believer's life. This doctrine depended heavily on James' pragmatic theory of truth where beliefs are proven by how they work when adopted rather than by proofs before they are believed (a form of the hypothetico-deductive method).
The argument from reason holds that if, as thoroughgoing naturalism entails, all human thoughts are the effect of a physical cause, then there is no reason for assuming that they are also the consequent of a reasonable ground. Knowledge, however, is apprehended by reasoning from ground to consequent. Therefore, if naturalism were true, there would be no way of knowing it—or anything else not the direct result of a physical cause—and one could not even suppose it, except by a fluke.

    >The cosmological argument argues that there was a "first cause", or "prime mover" who is identified as God.
Special pleading. What created God? Why do you stop the infinite regress at God? Even if the universe was designed, it would not imply the designer was "God".

    >The ontological argument

In this argument, existence is given as one of God's attributes as part of the definition: if X is God, then X has the property of existence. This is logically equivalent to "if X does not exist, then X is not God." It does not prove that there are any entities that actually match the definition.

Existence can hardly ever be considered an attribute, as something nonexistent cannot have attributes. Therefore, making conclusions about existence of an entity based on its properties is not logically sound. In short, this argument boils down to "show me a god, and I'll show you an existing god." It is a form of circular reasoning because the existence is built into the assumptions.

Here are some examples of this proof that highlight the fallacy.

    Unicorns:

Let us define a unicorn as a magical equine being that has one horn, and that exists.
By that definition, such a being must necessarily exist.
    Therefore unicorns exist.

    Shangri-La:

Shangri-La is the greatest place on earth.
A place that exists is greater than one that doesn't.
    Therefore, Shangri-La exists.

Cosmological makes no sense, as a first cause could be anything, and is just a nice way to shoe-horn god in. Also begs the question, what created god.
Teleological doesn't explain anything better explained by science.
Intelligent Design is retarded. I really don't need to discuss it.
Ontological is a word game, which comes down to semantics and doesn't prove anything.
Morality is bullshit, beauty is double bullshit, love is triple bullshit, and religious experience is ultra bullshit.
Anthropic is seriously outdated, science explains better.

Qualia needs more research before anything can be taken out of it, it's a seriously strange topic, but more research and knowledge is needed (it currently goes to no one)
Transcendental is wrong, pure and simple.
Argument from degree is dumb, other explanations that are also dumb exist anyway.
Will to believe doctrine is interesting, but doesn't suggest existence of god.
Argument from reason doesn't relate to god.

The age of empiricism will whither away and die in a few hundred years. It will dawn on the scientific community one person at a time that the complexities of reality exceed our observational or computational capacities. A metaphysics formed independently of experimentation will have to be constructed to fill the massive gaps empiricism will never fill.

"I believe that the most fruitful principle for gaining an overall view of the possible world-views will be to divide them up according to the degree and the manner of their affinity to or, respectively, turning away from metaphysics (or religion). In this way we immediately obtain a division into two groups: scepticism, materialism and positivism stand on one side, spiritualism, idealism and theology on the other. We also at once see degrees of difference in this sequence, in that scepticism stands even farther away from theology than does materialism, while on the other hand idealism, e.g., in its pantheistic form, is a weakened form of theology in the proper sense... As far as the rightness and wrongness, or, respectively, truth and falsity, of these two directions is concerned, the correct attitude appears to me to be that the truth lies in the middle or consists of a combination of the two conceptions..."

Objects familiar to our primate brains in human culture tend to have a creator or maker, most often a human mind

Therefore the incomprehensible quantum fabric of space and time, which by most accounts in modern cosmology has zero net energy, must also have a "creator" which we tend to think of in terms of a human-like mind or intelligence

Oh also let's just ignore that "creator" in human culture means rearranging existing energy and matter into a new thing, whereas that's not even possible for an entire universe

Since OP is a religion-tard, he doesn't listen to math, reason, or probability.

There are roughly 300000000000000000000000 stars in the Universe. That's 300 Sextillion. Each of those stars could host planets, and each of those planets could host moons.

IF YOU ACTUALLY THINK THERE ISN'T A PLANET SIMILAR TO EARTH IN THE UNIVERSE, THEN YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY GONE FULL-RETARD.

This is why religion will be completely gone in several centuries - It just hinders free thought and the progression of humanity as a whole.

Keep being a complete fucktard though, OP.

Why would God ignore the roughly 13.6 billion years of time where humans didn't exist? Why would God ignore the 300000000000000000000000 OTHER stars in the Universe?

"I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children." (Leviticus 26:22)

"Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourself every girl who has never slept with a man." (Numbers 31:17-18)

"The Lord commands: "... slay old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women" (Ezechial 9:4-6)

"When the Lord delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the males .... As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves." (Deuteronomy 20:13-14)

"You will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you." (Deuteronomy 28:53)

"The Lord said to Joshua [...] 'you are to hamstring their horses.' " (Exceedingly cruel.) (Joshua 11:6)

"... Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead with the edge of the sword and; also the women and little ones.... every male and every woman that has lain with a male you shall utterly destroy." (Judges 21:10-12)

"This is what the Lord says: Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass .... And Saul ... utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword." (1 Samuel 15:3,7-8)

"The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their women with child ripped open." (Hosea 13:16)

"A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD's work!
A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed!" (Jeremiah 48:10)

We've found a few hundred planets, most of which are massive gas giants, the few rocky planets are too far out or too close to their sun for life, as we expect it to exist, to exist. We have seen billions of billions of stars, surely we should have found a least thousands of planets?

Simply because there may be lots of planets doesnt mean the chances for life existing there will rise in any huge way, its too small a set of data to make any conclusions like that. Especially when we dont know exactly what the conditions for life are, exactly, for an planet, ever, at all.

Just learn to accept that no one, at the moment, can say whether it is or it is not probable that life exists outside the Earth.

Except our current exoplanet technology is quite primitive (for lack of a better word). Kepler detects exoplanets by keeping track of a star's light, but that really isn't a suitable method. Despite this, hundreds of planets have ALREADY been detected, many of which are either in the goldilocks zone or are terrestrial. Keep in mind that we've only scanned a small portion of our own galaxy, one that has ~200 billion stars. There are many, many, many, many more out there.

I would risk all of my money and possessions that life exists outside of Earth just for 1 more dollar.

my basic theory of a science proven "greater entity":

I see no reason why God didn't do the whole "WAAPOW BIG BANG MUTHA CHECK IT!", if the Big Bang theory is the generally accepted theory then God - who must know that we would've come up with such a theory - mayhaps God, being omniscient and all-knowing, knew that we would come up with theories of existence.

Which just as easily means that God could've "doctored" our evolution. So when he condemns Adam and Eve in the Bible for eating the fruit of knowledge "from dust you came and to dust you shall return" I ended up taking that as Gods laymen term for "from microscopic organisms you came, and now when you die you will return to them"

Also, when I was studying the Old Testament, it claims that is timeless, specified in "to Him 1 day is 1000 years and 1000 years a day", now the Jews stupidly took that to mean "Hurr durr the Earth is 6 thousand years old, because he made it in 6 days". However, scientific evidence proves that the Earth is far older.

I dislike the "if God is all-loving and caring, why Mother Nature such a bitch?" If I recall in 1 John 5:19 “the whole world is under the control of
the evil one” and Matthew 4:8, where Jesus did not dispute Satan’s claim to the kingdoms of the earth, and various other references to Satan roaming the world after he was cast out of Heaven, from a religious/Catholic/Christian perspective it says something to me about natural disasters.

Now I forgot my train of thought

even if you took out all the absurd impossible things, I still wouldn't use any book of bronze age stories as the basis of my beliefs about the entire universe in 2012

but he created nucleic acids and everything that is my point, science explains why things happen, but cannot explain the main source of why it is like that

Personally I've read the whole book back to front.

It's the disjointed thinking of several groups of people who lived thousands of years before my birth, it bears no relation to how we live as human beings in modern times, it's basically irrelevant to me.

Not to say that some of the take-home messages aren't good. "Love thy neighbour" etc. It's still wrapped up in the genocidal ranting of the old testament and the overt paranoia of the latter books of the new testament.
