I am unsure about full auto weapons to be honest however the weapon themselves is so costly that even if you had to pay $500 a year it wouldn't make a difference. The cheapest you could buy a full auto weapon would be at least $4000 for a .22 caliber weapon. Not to mention you burn through ammo quickly. Most full-auto's sell for $20,000 and up plus the ~35 cents per round fired.

Since you can only transfer a pre '86 full auto weapon they have increased in price due to their rarity. tl;dr People wouldn't be worried about the $200 tax if they bought a $20,000+ weapon that shoots $2,000 of ammo in a weekend.

No the same law that say you Have to have a sword is the law that says you can be conscripted. It was all part of the england having no standing army and you could be called on by your king and as a free man (on the electoral register) had to defend the crown if called. it is the legal foundation for conscription. if they remove this so they can lift you for having a sword, they have no conscription.

Protip: There's a right to keep and bare arms in Britain that has been round since the 1600s.
