    Neither. They both sound sucky. What about the cake that says states have control over everything except national defense. That's the cake I want to eat.
    >> Anonymous 02/25/12(Sat)22:06 No.1826497
    The cake is a lie.

    public admin master's holder here.

    the marble cake is the only model with any credibility and has been for several decades

    what, was I supposed to say something cute?

    I dunno, marble cake makes me question why we even have a federal system to begin with. If you don't have clear separation of power and authority between the Federal government and the States, you might as well just have a unitary system. No point in having all the extra government.

    Yes please. With constitutionally limited, bicameral legislative frosting. And little minarchist sprinkles.

    I think there is a bit of implicit commentary built into the model as to how fucked up the system has become.

    The model is not intended to describe how the system should be, only as how it is. Also, it's not realistic to expect layer cake to come back around, if ever it was in fashion originally.
