When I was a teenager my parents taught me how to make tea and coffee and every so often they'd ask me to put the kettle on, it didn't do me an iota of harm. I was also responsible for keeping my room tidy and walking the dog, sometimes I might also have to wash the dishes. Chores are not there to teach you that you are a lowly maid and will never amount to anything more, they are to teach you about having responsibilities and routines, and I've not grown up under the impression that the only thing I will ever amount to is washing dishes and walking dogs.

I live in area were that kind of culture has greated an alcohol problem.
In england there is no taboo on alcohol use and we have the biggest alcohol problem in europe.
