I have always wondered if nuking Mecca would destroy Islam. In the short term, muslims all over the world would go insane and kill as many people as they could by blowing themselves up. But then what?

What about the muslims that are left? What would happen in the long run? Would they go on as usual or would they be completely demoralized? Would islam continue to spread or would it die out like countless other religions in history? All religions die. Would nuking Mecca make Islam's death come sooner or later?
