FACT: The ONLY possible way we can have transhumanism is if we had free market capitalism.

Imagine all that massive increased economic production. Extremely low prices. Almost everyone will be able to do science, experiment and start companies.

    Let's fucking do this.

The R2D2 trojan backdoor for the iphone is just one example.

Try again, they will require the manufacturers to provide secret backdoors, as they currently do for almost all communication devices.

at first i was not sure if you were stupid or trolling
now its clear you may actually be stupid

are you trying to say there is a physical piece of hardware that allows government to come and spy on you

that if you install a mobile os on your phone that somehow they can still come and find you?

oh right, wait, you just said iphone...... thought i was speaking to someone intelligent and not a consumerist idiot

    yes consumerism is fucked

Lots of haters in this thread. Transhumanism is inevitable and unavoidable. It doesn't matter what your opinions on the matter are; IT'S HAPPENING.

The only question is when. We have seen, now, for the first time a (minor) slow down in the exponential growth of computing. 2d computing is reaching its limits. If we're not careful it will level off.

We may need more than 1s and 0s. We may also need more than 2 dimensions in our hardware. We may need colored light of various intensity to transmit data in more than two states - infinite states are possible.

In any case, we probably won't have nanorobotics any time soon. Without which it's pretty hard to imagine an artificial brain. So will we outlive death? The boomers certainly won't. Nanorobotics are just too far away. We've got a chance, but if it doesn't get funded I don't think we will. Christ I'm already 30, almost.
    >> Anonymous 01/11/12(Wed)23:44 No.1090053
    >>1090006
please tell me you arent implying with "funded" you mean you think the state needs to get in on this, that can only lead to the worst of hings

as for your understandings, they are correct, optics are being revolutionized right now in transmitting data
