fill
the frame with your subject, but don't crop parts of it. would have been
better if all of the head was in frame. Lit your subject. you were
in a controlled environment. photography is made of light, more is
better. get a table lamp straight in his face, then shoot. in this case
even a hint of fill flash would have been good. also exposure time
1/125s, ISO 400. you could have avoided some noise by increasing
available light or reducing shutter speed. alas, longer exposure could
have motion blur, so see previous point. learn to use basic
postproduction tools, photoshop, lightroom, hell even picasa will do for
now.
