but blogs would've run the damn pics, anyway. All the big papers have
policies against running pictures that show deaths actually happening,
except in extreme circumstances (9/11, etc), so I couldn't really have
gotten any decent amount for the shots.
I don't know, I'm kinda
superstitious, and I just felt like the whole day was tainted, like
keeping it would've been really bad luck or something. I'm a racer
myself, and I was there because I knew guys who were out there that day,
and I'd met the two who were killed earlier that morning.
If it
were a professional event, where the accident would've been worldwide
news, sure, I probably would have done something with the pics, but when
it was an amateur event, and the guys involved were friends of some of
the people I knew, it felt really fucked up, and I didn't want to be the
guy who made shit worse for their friends and widows by plastering
pictures of it all over the place. |
