Hey /p/. I have a days worth of photos to process and thought it would be neat to post them as I go along.

Ok here we go. We start our day off riding a train

These next few photos are from the train window. We are currently in the Austrian countryside, and it's pretty gloomy out.

I mostly had my camera set to "running guy" mode so the landscape didn't look blurry as we past. Here some birds were flying next to us.

i think the you've gone a bit mad with the green saturation/vibrance mate. jokes a side it hurt my eyes. nice project concept tho.

What a pleasent countryside, I'm reminded of the countryside outside Pittsburgh for some reason. I think it's the overcast and the hills.

Here I just added some fake blur using the tilt-shift filter in photoshop. I think it makes it look a bit more dramatic but hopefully still realistic. I'm no pro in photoshop not gunna lie.

Also even though I shot raw, I tend to use the camera's white balance becaue I trust it more than I trust myself

These are the settings I used in ACR. Basically the sliders are at the default.

I use +30 vibrance and +15 saturation as a starting point for all my photos, because at 0/0 the results from my Nikon D90 are really dull.

It really did look this green though

That's seriously high for a starting point. I don't think I ever go past 15 for either.

I know where this is.
What are you doing in austria?
Also you should shoot fullmanual.

This last photo took me so long because it's basically a panorama of 4 vertical pictures that I manually stitched together because photoshop was too dumb to align them.

It's obviously not perfect because the train was moving so the perspective is changing, but I tried my best to line them up and distort them before blending. I could probably make it look cleaner if I spent more time, but I'm not sure if it's even worth it :/

That's cool you know where it is. All I know is it's somewhere between Innsbruck and Zell am See.

I'm not in Austria anymore, these photos are a few months old but I've only gotten around to them now because it takes a while to sift through so many thousands.

Basically I was just traveling through Europe by myself on vacation.

Also about manual, the only time I honestly use fullmanual is if I'm trying to take a longterm exposure at night or when I'm making a panorama. When I'm just snapping pictures in normal conditions I honestly don't know how I could expect to outperform the camera's exposure logic

damn trains in yurope look nice.

European trains are fantastic, the infrastructure is just incredible compared to the utter shit we have here in America. It's really an embarrassment. Our state once had a proposal to create a bullet train, but it was shot down because of "MUH TAXES".

Here is the side of a building I saw as we pulled into some station. For those of you who've never been to Austria, its common to have colorful murals painted on the sides of random buildings.

I guess I'm sort of like Ken Rockwell in that respect then ;)

In this next photo I set vibrance and saturation to 0 so these people

can see what I mean when I say photos from the D90 are dull.

Are you saying that this photo has vibrance and saturation set to 0?

I'd do something like this instead of bumping up saturation.
