I don't think there is one. Most venues have their own ones down here in Aus anyway, there's not really an "across the board" pass that I'm aware of anyway.

It's probably smartest to make a custom one for each event.
Just include the name of the venue and a logo.

Randoms will be thrown off very easily, if you appear to know what you're doing.
They are usually students who received little instruction before starting the job.

staff usually print out papers which have all the different passes pictured which you can enter with, and place them on the entry areas. Atleast on the events I've been to.

If you publish 5 stories you get a letter of accreditation. Basically means a reference for when you want to apply an event specific pass.

They don't work, legit or not. No one cares, no one ever asks to see one or lets you into an event for free for wearing one. You want that, then just call ahead of time and get on the goddamn list. Easy.

All events I've attended have a list of credited photographers. You show up, state your name and they give you your pass. Usually a flavour of the wristbands, or lanyards for the event.

I had a gig once before I opened my studio where a friend of a friend got me an extra cash job working an event.
It's gotta be the same everywhere else but here in Vegas, they don't bother using the same people for ANY event.
I've been to the convention center, the design center, basketball and football games (college, semi-pro and pro), and the speedway, all at least three times, and every single fukkin time it's the same story.
"oh sorry man, I don't know where the closest ATM is, I've never worked here before, they just hire us temps in, try asking xx the security guard"
"uuuh, bro i think you go to the end and the left, sorry I don't know where concessions for pretzels is exactly, I've never worked this convention before"

You walk up with your equipment hanging off you, wearing dark, easy to move in clothing, your hair up out of your face and your makeup (if a femanon) clean and easy.
Wearing a shirt that says "STAFF" or "EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER" or something similar in a bold, easy to read text on the back, with nothing on the front, also credits you.
Have on easy to walk in shoes, like hiking boots or worn out sneakers, to look as though you've done this a million times.
Showing up to a pro basketball game in your team's jersey and a douche-baseball-cap and three friends hanging off you, trying to get in with a press pass, probably won't fly.
But show up smartly dressed with a lot of equipment, flashing your press pass long enough for them to see it without having time to study it -
THIS is what gets you in.

Dress respectably, think tie and collared shirt and a nice pair of pants, have anything that says "MEDIA/PRESS/PHOTOGRAPHER" with a picture of ugly ass face and walk right in.

If you look and act like you belong there, people won't even bat an eye.
